Well they built it.What the heck was the plan then ? 50 games in and the scoring issue still present.Cassidy comments last nite seem directed at management. Its getting ugly losing 5 of last 6 with Capitals next

I think Sweeney has a long range plan of primarily filling the roster by drafting and developing. He wants to stick to that plan for the most part and still ice a competitive team in the interim. If you look at the attempts to sign Tavares or Kovalchuk, it fits that plan.

I believe the Bruins are of the mind that if you get in and are playing well at the right time, anything can happen. I think that’s what Sweeney wants to do without disrupting his long term plans.

Whether it works or not remains to be seen.

Buckle up.

Sportsnet 650 Vancouver on the air Dave Pagnotta reporting that the next move to watch for after the Muzzin move is Jeff Carter and the Bruins are leading the way.
Yeah baby! Get this done and pull Jagr out of retirement and we’ll be good to go!

But seriously, he wouldn’t be a bad choice for 3C if LA retained a lot of his salary and he won’t cost much. Still gives them a chance to add a RW.

Might as well go for the oldest& slowest team in the East.

Carter's term is a real issue.

Hell baby
If we do get the good Hayes plz for the love of god don’t expect him to be a physical powerhouse because of his size. He’s a good player though, would be that top 6 winger we need. He’s not an elite top 6 guy though so I would still like them to add another 3C if they do get Hayes

I wonder if the unidentified player is zibanejad. I hope it’s Kreider

Great point about the expectations on bigger NA players. Bruins fans have always been bat shit crazy when it comes to that.

If the Bruins get Hayes then I think he is your 3C.

I hope the Bruins scouts who are going to the game in Pittsburgh to look at Dzingel come back telling Sweeney to go hard after Stone instead, although I think Dzingel would be a good rental.

On Carter, why? He's signed for three more seasons. He's 34 years old and could be the next Backes. That's not the kind of contract the Bruins should want to be adding. If I were Sweeney, the Kings would have to retain close to half of his contract for any deal to make sense and even then, meh.

With Krejci moving to a 16 team NTC clause this summer, is it crazy to include moving Krejci for a 1st+ as part of the potential strategy?

I'm not suggesting its a strategy I am trying to push. But, that, along with letting Chara walk, paying someone to take Backes, dealing Krug for futures, etc has to be on the table, right?
They might be able to keep Krejci if they got rid of Chara, Backes and Krug. I don’t know what Duchene would want for AAV though.

Grain of salt. I hear we are targeting Gonchar and Nylander. Rumor is Jurcina’s involved which I’m not a fan of. He’s going to be the next big strong D.
