I don't think there was any delay. Its been in the works for a week (as some have reported) but they probably wanted to wait until after July 1st to see about Tavares.

Curious about the number so hopefully that comes out soon.

Love Kuraly, glad he is back. Depending on how things shake out with trades / other signings, plus training camp surprises etc I think they might try this bottom 6 next year. I like it for many reasons, however, goal scoring would not be its strength. Come playoffs, barring a real blossoming from Heinen/DeBrusk/Donato I fear we're still a one line team in terms of consistent scoring. Sucks, because I really don't want to waste a second of 37's career.

Kuraly is not a viable 3rd line centre imo. I like him as a 4th liner. If no trades are made I believe JFK should get a real shot at 3C

I think 2 years would haven taken him to UFA status (he'd be 27yr old). So the choices we're probably a 1 year deal (bringing him to RFA again) or a 3 year deal to not lose him at 27 to UFA.

if it's 1.4 or below he's viewed as a 4th liner, over 1.5 and he's our 3rd line center. I'm guessing after what I saw in UFA for worse players we are looking at 3/5.25 or better.

If we think one of the young guys can do the job, who knows? I would say we have a possibility there, perhaps it is the same with the 3c role, though. Team is not far from being a complete contender.
