Never had any issues with internal competition and some of that would serve Tuukka well, wonder if he had a bonafide back up who is viewed as a 1b would have pushed him to play v Sens
A touch of sarcasm there but not really, there are times where I`m grateful this team has Tuukka, then there`s other times where I`ve asked myself the question if I were the GM of a Cup contending team but my one weakness were in net, which NHL goalie would I be in pursuit of landing and I`m not 100% convinced he`s on my list as a top contender
Funny that Tim Thomas strived so much to prove himself. And he did. It took competition to get that out of him.
Outside of Tim Thomas Tuukka Rask has had none. But then again, Tuukka's taken a chunk of money out of money that the team should spend on goaltending. The team can't afford to have a 3 million dollar back up; so unless a kid is pushing his way up... Tuukka hasn't really had anyone pushing him out of the throne since Thomas.
