One guy I would seriously consider is a guy Detroit let go, Zachary Gallant.

Problem is, he had an injury plagued season, so it was really hard to get a true gauge as to where he is at. He did sign an ATO for the remainder of this season and Detroit sent him to Toledo in the ECHL for the playoffs, and he appeared to hold his own.

What's the deal with Cooper Zech? I've heard a ton of conflicting reports about his contract status. I thought he signed an AHL deal that started in the 2019-20 season.

Bruins signed C Samuel Asselin from the Q, played for Halifax and against Lauko in the memorial cup. Had very good season at 20, but I haven't heard much about him.

Interesting. Sounds like a Bruin. Hard nosed skilled player who has a reputation of being tough to play against and a pest. Put up huge numbers this year

Wore a "C" for Shawinigan in 17/18 and an "A" for Halifax this year.

Any big time Q watchers who could chime in?

Watched him closely all year and was familiar with him the previous couple years.

He's not a big guy but he is very skilled and is always willing to go to the difficult areas to score. He's not as skilled but he plays a pretty similar game to Marchand in quite a few respects. He was the net front presence on the PP1 this year and scored nearly at will from there. He loves sticking around the crease once the play ends to mix it up and he never stops talking or smiling on the ice - such a good pest. He can create offense on his own, does a good job off the rush to find soft areas and moves the puck well. Beyond that he's also great on the draws, can play the PK, and has shown great leadership in the room and the community. He will be a good pro, maybe he can crack the NHL at some point, either way it's a smart signing and could pay off pretty well down the line.

He had the nickname "Mr. Memorial Cup" for a reason. A good signing.

he is a royal pain in the arse, watched him play a ton before moving to the warm coast. Actually a pest might be a touch gentile, he can be sneaky dirty, always yakking at opponents but the kid has excellent hands, is quick and I watched him play in all situations. Now, that`s Junior hockey and who knows if that translates to anything professionally but this is hardly a negative pick up, no risk, potential reward situation. Smallish but his game reminds me of Gallagher`s for the Habs, could use him tomorrow as the kid NEVER shies away from the front of the net

I had a chuckle when nbcsports said that the Bruins signed a PROLIFIC scorer. Let it be true.

So Asselin signed an AHL deal then like his tweet indicates rather than with the big club?

The top graphic is basically a heat map, the darker is where he takes more shots. The other ones is shots taken in specific locations on the ice. The upshot of it, if I am reading it right (and I am not 100% sure I am LOL) is that the kid goes to the net and likes to work in close.
