On the radio show this morning someone said Miller had had a setback, and neither he nor Wags are expected back. I was half listening, so can’t recall the source.

I feel so bad for these two, missing the Final when it is so hard to even get there. My heart aches for them.

Sweeney, meanwhile, was not optimistic about the chances that the Bruins would have the services of Kevan Miller or Chris Wagner for the Stanley Cup Final. Miller, who has not played since April 4 because of a lower-body injury, was with the team in Carolina working out off the ice, but Sweeney indicated that the blue liner suffered "a little bit of a setback, so I don't expect him to be ready to play."
Wagner blocked a shot with his right forearm late in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Final and is also unlikely to play in the Final.
"I would be very surprised if Chris is ready to play, but we'll wait and see where that goes," said Sweeney.

    I’m talking more about Wagner.

    From the Glode:

Chara arrived early, along with Steven Kampfer, for Sunday’s practice at Warrior Ice Arena and appeared near full strength in drills. Chara went to the locker room while the Bruins went through a 45-minute practice, and is expected to return to full training by Wednesday.

The Bruins have a week of rest in preparing for the Stanley Cup Final. But Zdeno Chara might not need that much time to recover from an undisclosed injury that caused him to miss the Bruins’ 4-0 Game 4 win over Carolina Thursday.

Chara arrived early, along with Steven Kampfer, for Sunday’s practice at Warrior Ice Arena and appeared near full strength in drills. Chara went to the locker room while the Bruins went through a 45-minute practice, and is expected to return to full training by Wednesday.

“We’ll see if they get integrated tomorrow,” Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy said. “We’ve kind of set it up – I don’t believe we’re going to skate Tuesday, so Z is looking at Wednesday. We don’t want to push it. I know he’s a workhorse and he’s going to want to get back in there as quickly as possible. I suspect they’ll all be with us by Wednesday at the latest.”

I thought Cassidy said they are both out for remainder or playoffs?

Zdeno Chara made another early appearance at Bruins practice at Warrior Ice Arena Monday morning. This time, Chara stayed around for the fun.

On Sunday, Chara went through drills with Steven Kampfer, then sat out the full training session. Chara, who missed the Bruins’ 3-0 close-out win over the Carolina Hurricanes with an undisclosed injury, appeared recovered from whatever ailed him and participated in the workout.
David Krejci, out for a maintenance day on Sunday, also returned to training.

Bruins can survive w/o Wags but not without the Big Man. Glad he's back on the ice!

It’s nice to have NHL calibre players like Moore, Kampfer and Kuhlman waiting in the wings in case there are any injuries during the Finals. No more Kaspers Daugevins flashbacks...

Joe McDonald in The Athletic in a nice feature on Gregory Campbell:

Wagner blocked a shot and suffered a season-ending right-arm injury during Game 3 of the Eastern Conference final against the Carolina Hurricanes. After Boston won that game, Wagner’s teammates all said they would win Game 4 for him. The Bruins swept the series to advance to the Cup final.

Miller is one of the most respected players in the locker room and he’s been out since suffering a knee injury in the second-to-last game of the regular season at Minnesota. The defenseman suffered a setback during his rehab and will miss the Cup final.

It’s as we suspected, but hadn’t seen confirmed.

I don't think some fans get how much of a leader Kevan is. I hope he heals up and whenever he is ready I will be happy to see him back with the B's.

I’d be a little hesitant to trade Miller despite the cap savings - can never have too many capable D men

Sucks not having Miller for this series. His toughness would be a great thing

Any word on Gryz. There was a tweet on main board GDT that said he went to MGH. Anyone know if that’s legit?

    Scum team that Blues team.
