Neat idea.

Kelly Miller was a great defensive forward who was a Selke finalist in 1992. Kip Miller was a pure skill guy who scored 100 points in college hockey to win the Hobey Baker and was basically a soft defensive liability/PP specialist in the NHL. Kevin Miller was somewhere in the middle.

Saku Koivu was an extremely talented tiny creative waterbug of a forward. Mikko Koivu is a big, slow two-way defensive center ... although he did have some of his brother's vision and playmaking ability.

Yeah, I think mikko was still considered a skill guy first when drafted. The game has changed alot since he joined the league though (especially in terms of speed), but he did show the ability to put many points on the board early in his career.

Dave (14th in 1974) and Don (26th in 1978) Maloney
Dave Maloney was 14th and went on to captain the New York Rangers to the Stanley Cup Finals.

Dan Maloney was drafter higher than Don (14th like Dave, but back in 1970) and he also played in the NHL all star game, but i am not sure if he was a brother.

Reaching a lil bit but

Mikael (18th) and Niklas (68th) Andersson
Mikael (9th) and Markus (45th) Granlund
PK (40ish iirc) and Malcolm (25thish) Subban.

Doug and Murray Wilson were both early 1st rounders iirc. Dough in two drafts (NHL and WHA)

Kenny and Jörgen Jönsson might the brothers draftest furtherst apart while none of them was undrafted. Kenny was 12th iirc and Jörgen was drafted late in the 9th round around 225th... Fun fact, Steve Sullivan was drafted second to last in that draft.

Cale Makar (4th in 2017) and Taylor Makar (217th in 2021) just put up a solid gap as well today.

Though seeing that Cale signed an extension today, and Taylor was a late-round pick by the Avalanche, I wonder if it was more a feel-good move by Sakic.

a different kind of brother gap

marcel dionne, 1971, 2nd overall

gilbert dionne, 1990, 81st

that’s got to be the longest gap between brothers right? dionne’s entire eighteen year hall of fame career had already ended by the time gilbert was drafted.

Alain Lemieux (96th in 1980) and Mario Lemieux (1st in 1984).

Keith Gretzky (56th in 1985) and Brent Gretzky (49th in 1992). I think there was a third brother but he went undrafted...

The Hugheses (Jack and Luke only) were fifth set of brothers who were drafted by the same team in the first round.

Duane and Brent Sutter by Islanders
Dave and Mark Hunter by Canadiens
Daniel and Henrik Sedin by Canucks
Cal and Nolan Foote by Lightning
Jack and Luke Hughes by Devils

It's not remotely 'highest drafted' but one of my favourite trivia questions is the only set of 3 brothers to be taken in 3 consecutive drafts.

Bob Gassoff - 48th, 1973
Ken Gassoff - 233rd, 1974
Brad Gassoff - 28th, 1975

Dan Maloney was no relation to Don and Dave, who were brothers.
