Bingo, although I'd move Nelson for an upgraded 3C as well, the third line aint working this year.

How is Nelson's foot speed? Maybe a swap for Rask would be beneficial for both sides?

Is he at all defensively responsible? Carolina could use another shooter too many playmakers.

Isles have like 17 NHL forwards for next year. Nelson makes sense as a guy to move because while not a vital, integral part of their offense he is still valuable enough to return a solid asset.

Carolina, Chicago, Florida, MTL, New Jersey, Philly, Tampa, Winnipeg... all seem like they could be a fit for him.

Some islanders fans criticize Nelson’s hussle/intensity but he has all the tools to have a breakout system with good coaching

He's not a bad skater, he's got a lot of range due to his lanky frame. Nothing in his game stands out, except his shot. It takes a while for him to get it off though so he needs time, but when he has a good look... his shot is legit. He can beat goalies with it from distance.

Tomas Plekanec- 50%
Jordie Benn - Can play the left or right side but refers playing the right side.
5th round pick(Edmonton's, if Montoya plays 7 game its turns to a 4th)

:isles

Brock Nelson
2nd round pick - either one

no chance Mtl trade Plek lol, like 0.00000001% chance. He will retire in a Habs jersey and is on a low cost contract this year.

He's a good skater. Definitely not great but I think he's better than ok given his long stride. No agility though, expected with his size.

I don't really have interest in Rask, I think he's unspectacular so it's just a sideways move. I'd be more interested in picks to be honest, depending on the D market. I think that Shaw, Eller return is what I would go for in multiple picks for the Isles to either keep the cupboard stocked or use in future trades.

I stand by this assessment, Nelson used to be defensively responsible. When he was young he had a two-way game. Then he lost it and became a guy to score off the rush which is why many call for him to be a winger over a center. With a different coaching staff, Trotz included if he stays, I think his game will transform.

If you need a shooter I think Nelson would be an excellent add for the Hurricanes.

Would be an interesting move for positional reasons (I'd be ok with Rask at 3C) but the Isles have too many forwards and something has to give. Most likely move is for a defenseman.
