Wait, can he play centre? Brian there's still opportunities, don't retire!
One of my favorite Devils.
good little career, will never understand how he scored 48 goals tho
Anyone have that picture of him where he is really small and going to celebrate with his teammates? That is my favorite memory of him.
Great career Gio. Was a pleasure to have you on the Sabres.
For an undersized third rounder, he had quite the career. Scored 193 goals from 2003-2010. Was a pain in the ass to play against for my Rangers. Likeable personality and always played his ass off.
He was probably 5'7 with skates on. Played the game the right way for a long time even after he lost his scoring touch.
Is that photo taken from a retirement press conference? Like did he retire a member of the Sabres? If so, I'd associate him with the Devils / Habs more than the Sabres tbh.
It’s likely because he’s taking on a role in the Sabres organization.
I can see him getting in a player development role where he has the option to go to a lot of Amerks games since he lives in Greece (suburb of Rochester)
kind of shocked MB didnt bring him back.....he cant be any worse then 3-4 of our dmen
and we seem to love remenissing about the past, and bringing players back....a la plecky
Thought he retired 3 years ago.
oopss was thinking josh gorges
re-phrase.....he can't be any worse then 3-4 of our forwards
You act like Bergevin wouldn't want to try him on D...
Listed at 5’7 so he probably was 5’5 max. Great career though
They most definitely shrunk Chara in that graphic
Might as well!!!
Throw it at the wall, if it sticks it works!
Best wishes for a happy retirement, Brian. We hardly knew ye.
After a short stint with the Buffalo Sabres, they offered him a small role in management. It will be good for him to get a little front office experience under his belt.
