Coach MT put Daniel Briere on the fourth line for monday's morning pratice after his captain arrival.

He was alterning on the RW with Ryan White.

Bold move but I would rather see Brière centering the 3rd line with Bourque and Prust and DD put on the 4th.

He put himself on the 4th line? Tell me more about this interesting development ;)

MT has been working on that big comeback for what, 25 years since his career-ending injury? Should replace Parros just fine.

Wait...

Desharnais did well on the 4th line in the last game. I'll let the coach do what he feels works best for his team.

I think it's more a warning shot than anything. MT does this sometimes, he demotes a player for a practice only. I'd bet that Brière will be in the top 9 tomorrow.

good...he should be sitting in the ****ing pressbox....this is one step closer to that....so dissapointed with him.

But yeah, Brière has been slow and non-efficient. I didn't want him then and I don't like his play now. It's truly a SHAME though, the opposite would have been AWESOME and a great story, but it's not headed there.

Briere is one of those players that only really starts to shine around the halfway point of the season. That's no excuse for his poor play as of late, but keep in mind this is still a new team with new systems and players.

Should he continue to be mediocre over the next couple of games, then I would be more worried.

Pacioretty, Eller, Galchenyuk, Gallagher, Plekanec, Bourque, Prust, Gionta, Moen... then you've got Bournival and White making cases to play every night, Parros on the mend... the team's deep. And guys like Moen, Prust and Bourque are bringing it, and can skate in more situations and bring something a little different than Briere to some lines.

It's a numbers game for the FWDs right now, hopefully Therrien gives Briere a shot at battling it out for that 3rd line C spot with DD, the other one is a fourth line wing/centre option for when Therrien wants skill over toughness on some nights.

Soe peopel are too hard on Brière. He was on DD line, which hasn't been working since 20 games or so. He fared pretty well with Bourque ad Eller last game.

Going to tell you a story. In my vacation, i was sleeping in the afternoon. My girlfriend came at me waking me up, and she tell me, "Hey baby, we just got Daniel Briere!!!"

You never saw a man waking up in 2 seconds, yelling and raging about it, going directly to my ipad, and nearly became depressed about it...and nearly throw away my ipad... lol

We just blindly accept a guy, who turn us down 7 years ago, who got turn down by his own team, and giving the flame at the opening night??? Give it to Subban, Price jesus, but Briere????

I gave Briere 10 games to prove me wrong. And so far, after 5 games, his assist on a empty netter look worst than Kovalev first empty net goal. So you got 5 game remaining Daniel. Will we see you more in the playoff?? Perhaps....until then, season will be long for you...

Yeah thank god its only 2 years. And the 4th line is perfect for you. Specializing in a great defensive specialist is maybe your destiny after all. Your in your own hole Daniel, you dig it up.

Ahhhh sorry all, im over-reacting... hmm maybe not i dunno lol.

Come spring time, when the ice melts, Jesus would make a great hockey player, that's for sure!

Also heard he has soft hands and can turn water into gatorade.

I checked on capgeek how much it would cost to buy out Brière at the end of the season and the cap hit would be 333,333$ for two years, not bad. I was expecting a million more but I think it has something to do with the actual Flyers buyout.

Anyway, is he sucks all years, it should be quite cap friendly to tell him good riddance

Why the **** is Briere on the 4th when DD still gets top-9 minutes with decent players?

********. He should be centering the 3rd line. DD should take a seat in the press box.

Therrien should play Brière on Gionta's shoulders.
We would have a 6'5" right-winger until McCarron comes around.

Thanks for the info, that's really interesting actually. $333,333 is really nothing for this team.

Frankly, I'm not too worried about Briere. I wasn't expecting any great numbers for the season. 40 points with 15-20 goals while playing 3rd line minutes + some PP time.

It was pretty well known that he's not the best player along the boards and is prone to losing most of his puck battles. He's a player that can make things happen when the puck is on his stick, and so far he's been making nice passes and showing some decent puck skills. Eventually he'll start shooting the puck more.

The reason we got him is because of his playoff pedigree. He's been known to come up clutch and to play well when it matters.
