K5 (Kuznya kids Kareyev, Kazakov and Kaprizov) continue to deliver.

Kareyev had his 1st career shutout today with 21 saves :handclap: also had a strong game against Sochi 2 days ago, with 44 saves and .937.
Kazakov had 0+3, +4 the last 2 games (now 6+6 in 13 games).
Kaprizov had 2+1 (now 4+5 in 14 games), and played his best game of the season against Sochi.

Burdasov this season is on a fire. Of course he's playing with Shipachev and Dadonov, but still we're getting another great line. Does this mean Burdasov will go to NHL as well (like Panarin)? He's Tarasenko's best friend btw.

.. and has never been trusted with more than 10 minutes per game in seasons before for a reason.

Burdasov is signed till 2017, but yeah, he's already tied his career points record (17) in 14 games and looks really dangerous. Playing with 2 other excellent forwards helps too, of course.

I don't think his contract is very expensive, so he can buy out it, if Plotnikov could do it.

He always had all kinds of offensive talent, even as a 20 year-old. Trouble is that's where his talents end.

Daniil Vovchenko scored a goal in his KHL debut for Severstal. Maybe someone to keep an eye on.

One name that came to my head instantly was Anatoli Golyshev. It seems like he will easily score 35 points this season.

After starting quite slowly Golyshev is on a pretty impressive by KHL standards 6 game scoring streak and has 11 points in 14 games now.

Most of the guys on this watch cooled down a bit tho lately. Out of players not mentioned here Vladislav Kartayev is getting decent minutes for Loko and turns out he has a pretty sweet set of hands too. Also Ivan Vereshchagin is turning into a solid pro for Sibir and actually leads the team's D in scoring (that won't last but still).

Have anyone else impressed you guys?

Maybe Alexander Barabanov? He gets couple of games per year and produces reasonably every single time. I feel like he could be a really good player if given real icetime on some lesser team.

After several straight average games, Kuznya kids strike back with strong performances in the 4-1 win over Avangard:

Kazakov with 2 sick setups, now 15 points (7+8) in 19 games.
Kaprizov with 1+1, enter double digits with 11 points (5+6) in 20 games.
1995 born backup goalie Vladislav Podyapolsky with 33 saves (.971).

Nikita Lyamkin, a 6'5 19 year old defender, who spent the last 2 seasons in QMJHL, has earned a steady place on the Metallurg defense roster. He doesn't stand out right now, but we'll see.

Regarding Lyamkin - cant' teach the size. One thing I don't mind is having our d-man go to CHL - serves them good

Rasskazov today scores 2 goals in games 3 for Yugra after a trade from Avangard. Hopefully this trade will give him a jump start.
One thing that I am shocked - why is Kirill Semenov (from Ava) playing in the VHL. That guy has so much talent, they should trade (hm...loan) him as well.

Also of note: Ak Bars trades (loans) giant d-man Z. Paigin to Sochi and considering that a relatively young d-man Kuznetsov had a successful start there, I would keep my eyes on Pagin as well. Hopefully sochi fixes money issues fast.

What is the upside of Pavel Krastovsky and Yegor Korshkov, the young forwards of Lokomotiv? They are both born in 1996 and they play together, and seem to click well. Both have good size and decent speed.

A great 20 year old goaltenders' duel in Novokuznetsk:
- Ilya Sorokin in the 1st game on the home arena after being traded to CSKA had a 34 save shutout.
- Vladislav Podyapolsky had 26 saves (.963), only allowing 1 PP goal.
- Kaprizov and Kazakov had a good game, creating lot, but couldn't register a point.

Not that great of a game today. Kaprizov, despite playing pretty decent, pointless, and Podyapolsky gave 4 goals on only 34 shots (.882).
Kazakov, though, had an assist (7+9 in 21 games now) and showed a bit of his tougher side as he cross checked Torpedo 5th line Konkov in the face. Though goofy refs gave him 2+10.

Loko still have plethora of great young Ds (Gavrikov, Rafikov, Lyubushkin) and realistically room for one of them, at best, they should really loan some people out again.

So Loko finally do the right thing and trade/loan Rafikov to Admiral.

Hard times in Novokuznetsk, as the team is on a 7 games losing streak (literally all of their losses were post-regulation or 1 goal games though). But Kuznya prospects keep their strong play in 4 more October games (not counting today's yet).

Kazakov had 2 goals and was +4 for 18 points (9+9) in 25 games. He's now tied with Stoa for the team points lead, and leads Kuznya in assists and +/- with +8.

Kaprizov had 2+1 and +4 for 14 points (7+7) in 26 games, including a couple of nice long shots that usually aren't his specialty.

21 year old D Roman Manukhov (spent Several seasons with Lokomotiv MHL affilate) is also impressive with 1+8, +7 and average 19:06 in 26 games. His steady defensive game is quite a relief when he's paired with Fairchild.

Kareyev played 3 games, all losses, with 2 average games (.857 and .914) and 2 lost SO series.

Podyapolsky had a strong .932 performance against Sibir, but the team still lost, and fix that damn wrapaound.

3 games after the KHL's EHT break ended, Kuznya has finally broken the long losing streak, obviously with their young leaders' help. In 4 November games:

Kazakov had 2+1 for now 23 points (12+11) in 30 games. Still top 20 in the league in points.
Kaprizov had 1+1 today for 19 (8+11) in 31.

Manukhov had 0+3 for 13 (1+12) in 31.
Lyamkin didn't register a point or a /+- ranking, but him averaging 14 minutes a game as a 19 year old defender is still pretty decent.

Goalies obviously had it the hardest, but Karyev had a very strong 27 save, .964 win over Sibir. His stats over the years are .918, 2.63 GAA which is nearly identical to what a certain Vezina Trophy winner registered on his last Kuznya season.

December is coming to an end...

- Maxim Kazakov went pointless for his last 6 games with Kuznya, but restored his scoring touch after getting traded to his home Avangard: 3+1 in 4 games, 17+13 in 43 games over the year.
- Kirill Kaprizov had 3 points (1+2) in 4 games in December before departing to the WJC, which makes it 23 points (9+14) in 40 games;
- Kuznya signed 1991 F Kirill Lebedev, who immediately challenged his inner Ovechkin for 6+1 in his first 7 games, after 2 points in his previos KHL career.
- D Roman Manukhov is literally leading all active Kuznya players in scoring with 20 points, including 7 (2+5) points in 8 games in December (but also a -1). He averages 20 minutes on ice now and looks like a beast.
- D Nikita Lyamkin scored 1+1 in 8 December games, including his 1st KHL goal.
- goalies had 2 good games and 3 average to bad games both :(

I don't get Kirill Lebedev. At all.

The guy's awesome. Good skater, good shot, decent hands and passing, decent size. Was PPG in the MHL as early as a 18 year old.
Then he had pretty average stats in the VHL: 32+49 in 146 games. I understand it's a rough league, but man.

This year, he comes to Kuznya and has 6+4 in 11 games already, on a 6 game point streak. And it's not like he's a 5th liner on a hot sterak. He looks really well and creates chances left and right. Playing for Kuznya, Carl!

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Kaprizov scored his 10th goal of the year yesterday, btw. 24 points in 41 games so far.

Well this came true with flying colours, Golyshev with 35 points before today's game and having a 4 point night today so far.

Season end is near, I think soon it will be a time to revisit our lists, to see how those names panned out and add some new ones. Watching Avto, Torchenyuk will be one of those.

The most impressive of those who were under-the-radar before the season has to be Zinyat Paigin tho. 19 points in 28 games after the trade to Sochi with that size at 20 years of age, that requires some NHL attention.

Paygin is a surprise, he was pretty helpless last year, when I saw them.

Torch is another guy cska has given up on, good for him, I am glad.
