It's possible that one of these two are available with the emergence of Erik Cernak.

Koekkoek isn't eligible to pass through waivers and is a RFA at the end of the year. Coburn is on the last year of his contract that pays him 3.7M. Details of each will be furnished upon request.

Both could go to any team really, Coburn is still an effective NHLer in the right role with only a year left. KK is low risk high reward for any team that has room and willing to give a chance.

Koekkoek has untapped potential but not in Tampa. I’d shoot for a 2nd for him. Coburn is gone in a year so no reason to trade him imo.

We are trying to make room for Cernak. Why would we want another dman.

Jordie Benn is not a Dman, he's a human pylon.

I think we're more likely to move Koekkoek than Coburn, if anybody. Probably looking for a pick or a minor leaguer in return. We don't have enough roster spots right now.

I think Koekkoek will cost a couple thousand in waiver claim fees. Don't think he gets moved for a pick, and I think Cernak is actually better.

Koekkoek could help a bottom pairing somewhere who has space. If we trade him, it won't be for a big return. Some people are out to lunch thinking we can get anything more than Fourth. His value is not being determined by his market value, its being determined by our situation with him.

Jim Benning is your man. Benning can't resist other teams failing high draft picks with expiring waiver exempt status. Some of us at the Canucks board are surprised Koekkoek isn't already here by now. Benning would cough up a second in a heart beat for Koekkoek that figures to be a very high second this year.

Oh he's going to make room for Cernak if your coach has any brains left.

The next pick in that draft was Filip Forsberg, wouldnt be too shabby of a roster with him in Tampa!

I doubt he'd waive for Ottawa but he might if you extended him for like 3 years. If he's willing to waive from a contender it's to sign one last good contract since he might not get more than a 1 year deal next summer.

I don't think Ottawa should be giving up assets.

He'd be a cheap get, and would do some good for the younger players
