Waiting on dollar amount. I said 6 years, 30 million all along. Anything less is a bargain.

Happy with it regardless. The Rangers needed to sign him long term.

Biggest thing to me was avoiding a bridge deal. You have the cap space the next two years, utilize it to lock these guys down long term so you don't get screwed like we have re. Hayes, Miller, and Stepan when they grow as players and cash out on the eve of becoming UFA.

This is a guy with #1 upside. Very little risk here, IMO. Nicely done for both sides. Get those Skjei jerseys printed.

I'm in the opposite camp. Bridging him might have cost us more money in the long run.

I don't think the type of player he is will lend his contracts demands to significantly change over the next two seasons. And I don't expect him to get much PP time which should keep his counting numbers lower.
