Biggest dive I've ever seen from a 'sure-fire top 5 pick' was Petr Sykora dropping to 18th in 1995. Holden and Friesen were also considered likely top-5 picks on draft day who fell outside of the top-10.

Colagiacomo had a huge fall, but was considered a 20-25 overall pick heading into the draft by most.

Maybe it was just me, but I thought Michael Forney was going to go in the top 30. He eventually was taken 80th overall.

Sergei Samsonov was considered the #1 overall pick a year before the draft and dropped to #8.

he did win the rookie of the year award..
