To be fair, Holtby was pretty great once he hit the NHL, but Oates messed with him stupidly last season. Korn has just done his usual magnificent job fine-tuning the splendid that was already there.

Amongst goalies with 30+ starts, he ranks 4th in Sv% and GAA. I hope the Caps give him a long term contract soon before everyone else realizes how good he is.

Not so sure about that. Two years ago he put up great numbers too. I think the big change is that Oates isn't messing with his mechanics and his playing style. He's back to more of the intuition style tending that got him here and less of the calculated thinking about his position the Oates tried to force on him.

But Korn helps, can't count that out totally.

I remember seeing him in the playoffs when he was still the "back-up" saw the potential but people doubted him. Glad he's coming out as a number 1 goalie (at least if this season is concerned).
