Love it. Tre is a stability factor for the entire team. Also, I hope he signs a specialist for UFA signings.

Glad we locked him down for at least the next 3 years. Hope he sticks around for a long time because I have no faith in this organization to make two good GM hires in a row - wasn't Benning heavily considered for the role alongside Tre or am I misremembering

As a canuck fan just curious what he has done to warrant an extension?

thanks
- Shrewd trader: first he acquired Hamilton, then when that wasnt working he picked up Lindholm and Hanifin for Hamilton and Ferland
- Locked up our young core of Monahan, Gaudreau, Lindholm and Tkachuk to sweetheart deals (the Tkachuk one less so but he still did alright considering)
- Hired Bill Peters who took the Flames to a 50-win season last year
- Pretty good drafter (a lot of this is more on the scouts to be fair)
- Signed Rittich who could very well be our next #1 goalie

Only knock on him really is his free agent signings, as he has overpaid for Brouwer and Neal in recent years, forcing him to use buyouts or trade for equally bad contracts to fix those issues.

I'm probably missing some stuff but those are the big ones... he's gone a great job bringing stability to the franchise after the years of Sutter/Feaster/Burke.

- He did hire Peters but he also replaced Hartley with Gulutzan
- He did find Rittich but he also acquired a lot of meh to awful goalies over the years
- Gave Paul Byron and Brett Kulak to the Habs for free

Overall he's still the best Flames GM I've ever seen and deserves the extension!

So much for, “this is how Flames do business”.

Honestly I’m a huge Treliving fan. The guy is so smart and he works his ass off. He’s great with the media and I think players really respect him. I hope he’s our GM for as long as he wants. He’s done vastly more good than bad, his only area of concern is FA signings, but I think he’s learned his lesson.

My favourite move has been getting Lucic for Neal.

We still need a bonafide 2nd line to win the Cup.....Backlund and Frolik won’t cut it....so he’s got some work to do

UFA signings and handling of goalies need to improve big time

but other than that he is more than solid. No complain on the extension from me

He also traded an unhappy Sven Baertschi for a rather happy Rasmus Andersson. So, there is that.
