There might not be anyone left to play in this game the way people are getting tossed.

TD Kentucky on the punt return. Wildcats came to play today.

This didnt age well. Kentucky's offense is utterly inept. Penn States is slightly better but both teams are combine 0 for 15 on 3rd down. Painful game to watch unless you are a Josh Allen fan

Iowa DB made a shoe-string tackle on a long pass to get MSU down at the 1. They ended up holding them to a FG, could be a huge play.

That was a damn dime by UCF. Too bad they didn't kick the FG earlier or it would be tied at the half. Still a lot game left and it's anybody's to take.

Even if UCF wins, at least they can’t claim a bogus championship again.

How was it bogus? It's in the NCAA record books.

So is a bunch of other useless shit.

One poll out of dozens had them at #1, and that’s what they used to validate it.

No one who actually follows football and isn’t a UCF-only fan thinks it is a legitimate championship claim. That’s why we have a title game.

But the title game isn't recognized by the NCAA as the national championship. ESPN wants to tell you it is but that's not the case. Plus they were the only undefeated team last year and they beat the one who beat the playoff champion. It was an absolute valid claim to a national title.

This kind of thought process is what has made UCF a villain in many eyes.

The NCAA has endorsed the BCS and now the CFP to provide them with a consensus national champion. This is in order to avoid things like 1991 where two teams have legitimate claims but never played each other in a title game. It was relatively common back then.

If you want to keep arguing caveots and technicalities, great. It makes UCF and their decision look all the more foolish.

Beating Auburn, who beat Alabama, means nothing. I could say Texas A&M has a legitimate claim to a title in 2012 in that case. What about Pitt in 2016? Horrible argument that has no basis.

Where are Boise State’s and TCU’s national championships from their undefeated seasons? Oh that’s right - they recognized and respected the system they were a part of. Instead of whining and throwing a fit, they enjoyed the success they did have and kept working to earn a chance at the BCS title. Boise State was a FG away (twice) from that chance, even.

If UCF truly is the best team in the nation, they should find a way to convince the nation of that. 3 close games against a good-at-best Memphis team sure isn’t anywhere near that.

If the NCAA doesnt recognize the playoff they certainly dont recognize a poll. They can claim it all they want but nobody outside of UCF believes it or, more importantly, gives a crap.

Go to page 115 of the NCAA record book and tell me they don't recognize the UCF national championship.
