Now we know, even Murray is human, Boulton showed us. ;-)

In his next game I think he registered 5 or 6 hits, I belive he is fine.

Murray rarely looses fights but I have never considered him a top fighter, to much hugging. I strongly prefer his open ice hits.

Hmmm, I wonder who is next to fight Boulton after this KO. ;-)

Murray was fine. After he served his major, he tried to take Clarkson's head off. Boulton isn't a dirty player or a dirty fighter, he's a top heavy in the league and Murray is a top 4 defenseman. Did I like the trade off? not really but I don't fault Murray for standing up for his partner. Everyone gets dropped from time to time.

wow, seriously, wow.

I don't even know what to say to this comment. Definitely showing your complete lack of knowledge

I am a newer fan and that's why use stats a lot for players i'm not very familiar with.Again,it still isnt helping your case.

You're comparing a goon winger to a Defense man

Murray: 14 points, +5, 203 hits, 1st line D man on arguably one of the best teams in the league.

Unfortunately,i don't see a category for "hits" on the stat sheet.I'm still talking about a 14 point guy on a good team and a 10 point guy on a good team.Except one can fight and the other can't.The goon had a hat trick last season by the way.

I'm done here.

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Let me break it down for you, Douglas Murray is a Top-4 defenseman and Boulton is a 4th line goon. Murray is a sound, physical defenseman who isn't expected to put up points. Yes, Boulton had a hat trick. The best game he'll ever have, but he is not counted on to bring anything to the ice other than his fighting skills. That is why he has bounced around from team to team. He is nowhere near as valuable as Murray. Also, Shane Doan has never scored a hat trick, is Boulton more valuable than him? See the logic fail in that?

Also, Murray has over 30 fights in the NHL. hockeyfights.com has his sheet, so maybe look it up sometime before you make an ignorant statement.

Define how i am being a homer. I simply defended the whole "TKO" and getting getting "Knocked out!" statements because they were flat out stupid. Then, on top of it, everyone starts praising Boulton. And another poster said how well respected he is, i posted that video saying a guy who makes these kinds of hits isn't respected by SharkLoc91.

Fixed.

Your a new fan, than why are you trying to argue against a player you know nothing about and don't watch? Using stats is a good way to go, but since you have no knowledge of both players or how they play, I'd say you have no opinion here.

:laugh::laugh:
Hits count, sorry to break it to you. Murray has been the physical force at the blue line, and for the overall team for years. What has Boulton contributed? Murray is a shut down physical D man, not an offensive one, that is where stats go wrong. Matt Barnaby had a Hat trick in the playoffs once i believe, does that make him less of a goon and better than players who have never done that?

Oh by the way, Ive been watching Murray since his first days as a shark. Since he apparently cant fight, Here is Murray's fight record: 21-4-3(including Boulton Loss)

Don't recall anyone saying how respected he is besides you...

BTW guys,"I'm done here" doesn't mean I told you how it is and that's that.I just mean I'm done with this thread. It seems the debate has fallen into high school banter

We disagree and let's leave it at that..

Actually, this isn't helping your case at all. You can also see TOI at NHL.com (time on ice). That will help you.

You clearly don't really understand the difference in positions in hockey yet and that is ok, it will come in time

You should first learn about the game of hockey before even trying to debate. And this whole "high school" argument it has become...do you even know what your talking about? Do us a favor, go watch and study some NHL games, Then come back and try it again.

Well, again, your stats ain't helping.learning hockey isn't going to change that.To bad your guy got knocked down, but it happened.

Get over it.This appears beyond personal with you two.All the condescending comments in the world won't change the facts.

Sorry.

:help:

I'll try to make out what you just typed...

Anyways, My stats aren't helping? How? Learning hockey will change your outlook on stats, because stats don't always tell the whole story. By knocked out, you mean knocked down, then yes.

We haven't said anything condescending, you put yourself out there by saying that you were new to the game and only looked at stats. Sorry, but if that is all the knowledge you have, then you shouldn't be here.

Nobody even talked about the flying elbow Murray threw at Clarkson up high that thankfully he saw beforehand and only got hit in the ear. Otherwise it would have been lights out.

Ok, how about 'sensitive people'. I would lump you in that category :)

Please explain to me how i am being sensitive. All i did was correct the idiotic people claiming it was a knock out and how Murray got basically wrecked, people defended their claim by stating how i am a sharks fan that is upset over the loss, then i continue in this thread to educate 3rdmanin because of his lack of hockey sense in general. Get over yourself with the whole "butt hurt sharks fans" comments, it really is stupid. No one argued that Murray lost. Yet, im a Butt hurt/sensitive fan because i corrected other morons in this thread?

everything in your other post i agree with except your whole butt hurt comment.

Sounds like a Shark fan has some sour apples because his boy lost a fight.

Deal with it. Everyone eventually loses.

So yeah, that's 3 butt-hurt Sharks fans trying to find a reason to talk badly about Boulton after a completely clean fight.

Bitterness? Calling out an enforcer for not removing his helmet in a fight when the other player (a lesser fighter) doesn't is totally justified. It is an act that is looked down upon, especially with guys who fight often, like Boulton.

Calling out a fanbase because of your own misconceptions about hockey fights is just silly.

Oh, I'm not calling out a fanbase. I pointed out the 3-4 sore losers in this thread, one of whom is visibly having a hard time letting it go.

You wear helmets for a reason. Boulton has never been a guy to remove his helmet, because he hasn't needed to. He doesn't wear a visor so there is no point in putting yourself at risk to bust your head open.
