Who are the ones you'd try to sign among the invitees? I know Scanlin is one
Ford, McLaughlin,Meyers, Mitchell, Scanlin,Stejskal and Petruzzelli
Realistically they'll probably get 2 of these guys
Petruzzelli probably signs soon, he'll be in Maine
Rest unfortunately will head back to College
Gun to my head picking between Mitchell and Scanlin, Mitchell looks to have the higher upside but Scanlin is the sure thing imo, would love to sign both

Edited for you.

That doesn't help us the last few years, or this upcoming one.

I will give Sweeney credit for getting the memo but it has already been a few years too late.
They D looks like Patriots OL when they huddle up

"I feel like he is a taskmaster, and may hurl heavy objects at us if we don't perform. One time we were playing monopoly and my dad picked up the thimble and started to chew it, to my surprise he spat out a bullet. Needless to say I traded him all the railroads and Pacific Avenue for rights to land on free parking.. "

Well…. the current defense:

Grzelcyk (5’9”) — McAvoy (6’0”)
Reilly (6’1”) — Carlo (6’5”)
Forbort (6’4”) — Clifton (5’11”)

Yes. The current is closer to 5’9 than 6’9 at this point in time. They’re average CM is 187 which is 6’1” in feet.

And Carlo, for all his talent, plays like he is 6'0. Forbort is big but also is not that type of player. It will be a long year back there.

I wish I could take bets on our defense.

I keep reading how awful they are, but I think they're gong to be great.

It's definitely not awful, but we are still missing that legit #2 guy. I'm also a bit concerned about Clifton as the full time third pair RD. But I'm a huge fan of Carlo and Grzelcyk, who I think are chronically underrated here.

Awful? No. Average in talent, size, and toughness? Yes.

Reilly doesn't excite me whatsoever. I hope I am proven wrong but he is not what the Bruins need and they should have moved on.

Forbort does bring size... we shall see. I am more excited and optimistic that our prospects can slide them down the depth chart, rendering them the poor contracts I believe they are, and thus improving the Bruins.

Lyle, Vaak, and Zboril each have something to possibly show this season.

If they are "great" with Reilly or Forbort as a top four defenseman, it is the system bringing that success. It simply depends on your definition of great.

I think Clifton will be a stud in his role, knowing he's earned his spot. I also think he has another level, and even if he doesn't he's far from vanilla when it comes to entertainment factor.
