Don’t see the Bruins getting Zboril to a place where they feel OK about letting Krug and Chara go and then deal him for a different question mark.

Wild are fine with keeping Menell.

Both players are no longer waiver exempt, meaning if they don’t make their respective rosters then they must pass through waivers in order to be sent down to the AHL when their season starts.

Boston is deep on the right side I don’t believe Menell would win a roster spot in Boston but then again Zboril might not win a spot either depending if he can beat out Lauzon, Moore and Vaakanainen on the left side.

Zboril would already be in the NHL on a lot of teams, as someone who has watched him regularly. That's not to say they didn't mess up that entire draft, or that he was a good pick there. He would have been on the team earlier but Gryz turned out to reach his ceiling, probably unexpectedly.

LHD not a need for MN, who has Brodin and Suter signed long term to NMC deals, and just signed Soucy to a 3 year contract. Also have Hunt as a PP specialist, and drafted two LHD, O'Rourke and Hunt, both of whom are pretty well thought of.

Menell is signed for the year in the KHL, in any event. He has a similar skill set to Krug, but it remains to be seen if he can be effective in the NHL, due to a lack of opportunities with MN. Hopefully he gets a chance to make the team in 21-22, as he has more than earned a shot after tearing it up in the AHL, and looks to be doing really well in the KHL, scoring at over a PPG.
A lot depends on whether Dumba is traded, which is possible because MN has so much salary in their top 4. If he is, the Menell, Addison, and Belpedio will all get chances to make the club either this year or the next.

Zboril is two months older than Menell. He is either the same height, or one inch taller, depending on the site you use. AHL stats(neither have any NHL time to speak of);

Zboril 184 gp 57 points

Menell 199 gp 116 pts.

Menell has 10 pts. in 10 gp in the KHL so far.

I don't see where you need to "restart the clock" on Menell. One could argue the opposite pretty strongly.

And the Bruins NEEDS Zboril's game.

Plays heavy/hits, drops the gloves, smooth skating, great gap control but limited offense. Modern day defensive D.

0 interest in trading Menell. Especially for another defenseman.

If he was included in a package for a top flight center, sure. But that's a trade that makes 0 sense for the Wild.

The Bruins have been grooming Zboril as the shutdown D in Providence. According to Zboril himself they have broken down his game defensively and taught him how to play a new way. So yeah. Listing point totals means nothing lol.

So far only negative responses. Do you guys think that both teams would lose this trade?

I think it’s sink or swim for Zboril this season. He asked for a trade and supposedly Carolina wanted him last season and the Bruins shut it down. Sweeney is going to give him every chance to succeed here. It seems more personal then everything after all the crap he got for the 2015 draft. I’d do it for a fwd prospect.

Points aren't everything.

Okay, then please explain how going from Zboril to Menell is "restarting the clock" as the poster he was responding to put it.

He was simply showing that this is not the case and you could easily argue that Menell is a better/more polished prospect.

Calling Menell a " question mark", while talking up Zboril, is either homer talk, or speaking out of ignorance. Any neutral party would surely consider them equal as prospects at the very least, if not giving the edge to Menell. In any event, MN declines. They are set with three LHD in Suter, Brodin, and Soucy, and have just topped up their LHD prospect depth.

We could trade both Dumba and one of Addison/Menell for a good center. Trading something to get LHDs or LWs is just stacking the most stacked positions in the team.

Commenting the about the ability is useless, we just signed Soucy and the LHD is stuck for 2 seasons minimum.

If Menell didn't run off to Russia, he'd probably be in the driver's seat for the #3 RD + #2 PPQB spots this year. He's also a big part of our Dumba trade insurance.
