It wasn't a salary dump either, it was primarily getting value for a player who said he's 100% testing free agency.

Nearly 3 years later, the Dodgers are laughing at the robbery they pulled off here. Verdugo is the definition of meh, neither prospect looks poised to do anything special.

Don't see Betts falling off a cliff anytime soon either. Should be at least a good player for a minimum 5 more years.

Betts is putting up an MVP season, although Goldschmidt might run away with it though.

Bill Simmons is still mad at the Sox for that and don't think it won't happen again. Devers and boegarts are threatening to test free agency.

If he allows both to walk there will be riots in bean Town.

They're already low balling Devers, and you can bet they'll play the "injury prone" card as the justification for when Devers leaves for a full value contract.
