Yeah, but injuries happen, and demoting Backes will still leave the Bruins using LTIR space. No reason not to recall another player.
Unless Kevan Miller is returning soon? Not familiar with his status.
No he is far far away.

Buyout would cost Boston $4 mill in dead space next season then another $1 mill the following year.
Really..... Loui Eriksson is the best signing from that year????? Man I need another drink.....2016 UFA class still looking good
Devils would be glad to do business with the Bruins again! How does a 1st for Simmonds sound?
Ok in all seriousness........IF the Bruins are interested, I think a 3rd or 4th with salary retained should do it? Not sure.
Luongo.
Doubt they want Simmonds he is nearing the end himself and not much better than Backes, they cleared space to hep trade for a Toffoli or Kreider type of player.Devils would be glad to do business with the Bruins again! How does a 1st for Simmonds sound?

Nope not dealing any picks, roster players or top prospects just to move Backes, they will buy him out next year unless he retires instead of playing in the AHL.I'd take him on the wings right now for a first.
No one leaves money on the table.
*except Rafalski and Bobby Orr.
Is he really so bad now he can’t even be a limited 4th line role player?
Is waivers a way to get Backes to waive his limited no trade? Better to be traded than to be put in the minors? Just a thought . . .
yeah or they can retain 50% after they pay the bonus and the other team only has to pay 1.5m in real cash, and the Bruins get 3m in cap space.
Can parents claim there kids?I think someone will claim him
The salary doesn’t match the cap hit thoughthat 6 mill cap hit next year is the problem

Hasek gave back $3M to the Wings iirc.No one leaves money on the table.

Think Krieder is the guy. From Boston too.
that 6 mill cap hit next year is the problem
We will even retain some salary for your 2nd.have a feeling B's are going to bring in Wayne Simmonds...
