The Andromeda Strain

7.0 out of 10. Very abrupt ending that felt unsatisfying. I know there's a sequel that might address that feeling but at the end of this I was left saying "that's it?"

Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. In terms of the subject matter, the timing is purely coincidental.

One of the better “self help” books I’ve read in terms of giving one a push in the right direction, if they need this sort of focus in their lives, and in today’s day and age - who doesn’t ?

Watched The Aviator recently (vgood biopic), now reading this book. From Hell`s Angels to the Spruce Goose to his final days, a fascinating life.

My opinion, the writing/plot in this graphic novel isn't really of note.. But the artwork is killer. This cover doesn't do it's realism full justice. Great mood, perfect, detailed depictions of dark waters & shadows, etc. This is like Norman Rockwell type realism (veins on the hands, etc). I'm digging it.

I started this the other day with the idea to pick away at it here and there while I read a biography but I was hooked almost instantly and am 60% through it now. I can see why it received all the hype. Reminds me of the goldfinch, but less than half the size in length. Perfect summer book.

I’m not listening to the audiobook, but if you like audiobooks this would be one to check out as Tom Hanks does the narration.

Have about 120 pages left to go, and it’s really not as explosive as some thought it’d be. I just enjoy reading US National Security which from the POV is informationally pleasant to read about

I’m currently reading “Seinfeldia”. A book about the show about nothing. If you’re a big Seinfeld fan I’d recommend it.

I appreciate the heads-up on this. Picked it up from the library yesterday and starting reading it..
I still celebrate Festivus alongside Christmas..

I went to my favorite bookstore in Montreal (S.W. Welch) for the first time in months and picked up High Fidelity by Nick Hornby, Wittgenstein's Mistress by David Markson and The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera. I've long been curious to read Markson's novel and I was happy to find it as a random find today. It likely has the record for initial rejections with a staggering 54!

Unusual, and kind of convuluted, retelling of A Christmas Carol.. But I'm becoming a big fan of Bermejo's art so I thought I'd check it out.
