    There is no deal to be made at this time, which is why they aren't talking.

    Why so many people continue to think this is some sort of war of ego between two individuals is beyond me.

    Maybe not ego, but it's a lot of postruing and stalling. After Sept 11th the NFL and the ref's union ran through a deal in a week because there was no way a stoppage would fly at that time. The MLB and their players actually got their CBA done in the year before a potential stoppage.
