What’s overdue is a worthy successor coming out of the broadcaster pipeline.

They had one. Chris Cuthbert. Then they laid him off.

But hey, now they have that constipated android, Jim Hughson

All the announcers these days as monotone AF, there is no passion. Not the case with Bob Cole!

Bob Cole has a genuine enthusiasm for what he's done so well all these years. And that I appreciate.

Some of today's PBP do speak in a monotone.

The one's I dislike most now are the ones who try and compensate for being boring by screaming, and shrieking, or use non hockey terms to try and sound unique. They come across as complete phonies, and are annoying.

We know who the latter group of guys are.

He has a great voice and is an icon. My gripe with him is that he butchers players names, mixes up players and is often slow to call the play and basically senile. He is a bit of a Habs and Leafs homer as well except when they play each other

As much as I hate to admit it, cause I hate both teams, but Habs vs Leafs IS Canada. It's only fitting he calls this game, on CBC, and not on something like City or SN1
