Quite a few Bokk highlights (as well as other Blues prospects) on this instagram account:

Some of the Hugh McGing highlights on there have really impressed me. That little guy can flat out fly. I'm interested to track his development and see if he can translate his game to higher pro levels, because he has some good skill and his skating acumen is undeniable.

This play made me sit up and pay attention:

Just for the record, I am in no way affiliated with this account (not trying to promote my own media interests).

This is amazing

So I'm guessing Fitzpatrick likely isn't gonna be much of an NHL'er? asking cuz i have him in a deep fantasy league and was wondering if he's worth holding onto. any insight would be appreciated thanks!

He’s not worth holding onto because he just turned 21.

I don’t think anybody has any idea if Fitzpatrick will be a future NHL’er or not. But if he is it won’t be any time soon. He’s at least 2 years away.

Is the underlined sentence a sarcastic statement?

If not, what's wrong with becoming an NHL goalie at 23 years of age?

I think he was speaking from a fantasy perspective, that Fitz is several years away from being legit NHL starting option. Don't think it was meant as Blues should be down on him or give him up.

Really depends on your league roster settings. How deep is deep? What leeway is given for prospects and allowing them to develop without affecting your roster? How committed to a long game are you?

My dynasty league has a 25 man active roster, 40 man AHL farm team and allows us to keep our draft picks on a junior roster for 3 years prior to signing them. Our entry draft is 8 rounds in July, allowing us to pick any player who has been through the NHL draft at least once (so Alexis Lafreniere can't be taken until July of 2020) and was drafted or draft eligible in the past 3 years.

I have the following sitting on my farm team: Allen, Pickard, Montembeault, Vanacek, Bow, Kevin Boyle (currently replacing my IR'd Gibson), Spencer Martin and Kochetkov. My Juniors have Parsons and Lafontaine (2016 picks), Luukkonen (2017 pick) and Skarek, Kehler, Galajda, Cale Morris and Fulcher (2018 picks).

I'll likely draft 1-2 goalies this season in our entry draft, because of our format (5/12 H2H categories are goaltending) and how costly goalies are (Allen cost me my 2018 2nd, 2018 4th and a conditional pick which looks like my 2019 5th) despite his terrible stats, he's about to do me a huge solid in our looming expansion draft where we need to expose a goalie with a minimum of 30 NHL games played in the past 2 seasons I can expose him and protect my quality starters... I have 11 picks with 7 picks in the final 2 rounds of our 2019 entry draft, so I'll dig up an overage goalie or two somewhere. If Fitzy was available, I'd absolutely have taken him last year in his final draft eligible season - but in a league without that same roster flexibility, he's more of a long shot as he's buried behind (Binnington, Allen, Husso).

thanks for the insight guys! yeah he's basically my prospect until he's played 50 games at the NHL level(as a goalie IIRC), so I'll definitely hold onto him as a project, and if he doesn't pan out, i can woodchip 2 prospects for an extra Prospect draft pick.

Saw portions of the broadcasts Friday night with McGing and Perunovich.

McGing seemed bewildered, Perunovich looked like a very good third D, power play specialist. Small but effective

Lots of goaltenders don't mature until age 26-27. Goaltending technique can be learned. Take Binnington, Curtis Sanford, Dubnyl, Els, etc.
Fitzpatrick has plenty of time to learn his trade. He has a bonus of great size, and isn't terribly slow. So, he has some pluses making it worth more waiting to see how he develops for, at least a couple more years. Same with Husso. The problem I see, is that The Blues don't seem to do very well at IMPROVING the skills of the goalies they draft, once they get into their system.

He is improving his play in the defensive zone. If he keeps doing that, he may become a decent 2nd shifter AND PP specialist.

How was Fitzpatrick's game last night? Seemed decent until the late third period?

I think I am becoming the low voter on Kostin. With our depth at RW Prospects, I would be willing to move him this off-season. Probably not at the deadline as I can’t see a deal working out by then. But he just seems like a “has tools but not the tool box” type of guy.

Agreed. Would rather not deal him for rental but for someone with term he is logical guy to ship out.

Awfully quick to pull the plug on him. Still plenty of potential there. You have to give players time.

I just don't see the potential everyone else does. What is his upside? Cause he has no unique skill. Kyrou has his skating, Thomas has his instincts, Bokk has his great puck control skills. What's Kostins unique skill? His physical play, maybe, but at th AHL level that's just led to to him taking a lot of penalties, with middling point totals. And his PPG this year has actually dropped a bit while his penalty minut s have gone up, and while I don't value plus minus much, a -16 is pretty worrisome.

I mean, if Thomas, Bokk, and Kyrou hit ther potential I see a 1st liner. If Kostin hits his, I'm seeing 2nd/3rd line hybrid type.

He has a greater wrist shot, a strong drive to win, and is a good, but not elite, skater. He’s a power forward. He needs time.
