Leafs: ROR + Parayko + Thomas

Blues: Matthews + Robertson + 15th

Toronto gets their defence partner for Rielly, ROR brings in toughness and playoff experience along with another local Ontario boy in Thomas.

St Louis builds their team around Matthews and resign Pietrangelo, adding a top prospect and a top 15 pick in a deep draft.

Robertson and 15th overall aren't "spare parts" on their own, but in the context of a trade that involves ROR, Matthews, Parayko and Thomas, they are spare parts.

Way too much going to Toronto in this deal.

Well, 15th + Robertson + Thomas are all pretty comparable.

But ya, when RoR and Parayko are going one way, it's gonna take quite a bit more then that added to Matthews. The value certainly favors Toronto here.

Ror is on a great deal and provides more of what fuels the Blues than Matthews. Not saying he is better but this deal doesn't really fill any needs for the Blues. What they gain in scoring isn't equal to what they are losing in defense.

I can't imagine the off-season where we lose our captain and Conn Smythe winner from our only Cup team.

Slight overpay by the Blues and doubt both teams pull off such a transaction. Leafs will likely move Nylander or Marner before they think about trading Matthews.

Matthews is NOT leaving Toronto. Hebis the future captain. There really isn't an offer thay the blues could make...not happening...this one of those guarantees in hockey...

St. Louis gives up three of the top 4 pieces in the deal. Matthews is a great player but the addition of an unproven prospect like Robertson and the 15th overall pick isn't nearly enough to even out the deal.

very unbalanced -
for just AMatt alone, St L also adds a few 1sts and Kostin or Kyrou
not saying they would,
but you want that type of young and dominant player, you won't get him for a 'fair' trade or a 'hockey trade'
you admit you are redesigning the whole thing, and you pay big, big price

Robertson probably not available
could be a deal around 15 and Parayko

When all the posters below agree with this guy^ in thread involving the leafs, you need to re-think a few opinions because you're hilariously wrong

Blues say no.

Blues decline

Matthews isn’t worth both Parayko and ROR plus you get two players for basically the same cap hit. Also give me Robert Thomas over Robertson + 15th overall all day.

Blues get robbed.

No way in hell would Blues do this.

Those are pretty much the Blues 3 best assets lol. Matthews is great and all, but wouldn’t really consider this for the Blues.
