According to Jets fans, you’d think the Blues are a lottery team and the Jets are 3 time cup champions

I also noticed Dun with 12 min of ice time. He looked a little bit overwhelmed with the forecheck a couple of times have to think he just wilted a bit with the increased intensity. That was as close to a playoff game we’ve had all year.

To the jets fan who kept saying we are a boring team in their GDT, I have to wonder if you have never seen a playoff game, oh wait you probably haven’t since the Jets haven’t been contenders in forever. Well let us just point out to you that in games that matter, the intensity, the forecheck, the hits, and the clutch and grab goes way up and you don’t get the time and space you get during the regular season.

Welcome to the playoffs.

 that team has been the the playoffs once in its new existence. Even then, they were quickly escorted out. They havn't built their team through savvy drafting, they have a great team because at some point if you get enough high Picks your bound to be good....excluding the Oilers and Sabres:snide:

In fairness, Laine is only time they have picked in top 6 since they've moved to Winnipeg.

I mean this is true to some degree, as they have drafted within the top 10 four times. But the Jets are still ridiculously good at drafting. Just looking at what they’ve done over the last 7 years is incredible.

The worst thing is I used to try to get friends and people I know to like hockey. Try watching that video with someone new to hockey and explain why the ref 10 feet away didn't call 1 penalty. Things don't get that blatant every game but plays happen more often than not where all you do is say it's the ****ing gong show. If hockey ever becomes a pure skill and physical sport it'll climb the ranks compared to baseball, football, and basketball. For some reason they've never wanted to take the gong show element out.

The refs just let about everything go last night, until they called a few by The Blues late, seemingly to keep the game interesting. But The Blues can't complain about the reffing of that game, as the refs didn't call about 4 trips in a row by Blues' players during The 2nd period, while they were building up their lead. I agree that The NHL has to get their officials to be more consistent in making calls. The amount of variation on making calls from one game to another, and one game circumstance to another (based on which teams are playing, home and away, time during the game, and importance of the game (early season, run to playoffs, playoffs) is disgraceful (and ridiculous). There should be one standard - period! The same rules should apply to a hold, hook, trip, slash, boarding, etc. no matter who is doing it, or when.

It's cold up there. They have to believe in something, even fantasies to keep their sanity.

They have a very good team. Will that translate into a cup? As Blues fans we know the answer to that. Many regular season monster teams have crashed and burned in the playoffs.

I want to see that before I die. Winnipeg would go absolutely wild if The Jets win The Cup! They'd be celebrating in the streets for months. Even David Steinberg would return, and they'd bring back the bones of Monty Hall!!!:laugh::laugh:

You know what. I really want to watch a game live with Robb some day. I just feel like he would be incredibly fun to watch a game with. Maybe we should start a GoFundMe or something to get Robb over here for a game.
I'll take you guys up on that when The Blues get into The Cup Finals, if some of you will put me up for some days.

Yes, but I also imagine we'd lose him during intermissions and beer runs. :sarcasm:

I'd trade Robb a week's lodging for a picture of Scrooge McDuck dressed in a Blues jersey holding the Stanley Cup.
I'm very busy with work now, but, I will try to sneak in some time on drawing that as soon as I can, regardless of whether or not The Blues will go far in this season's playoffs. I, myself, would like to see such a drawing.

I don't drink Budweiser.
I don't drink any American beer, unless I'm taken to a recommended micro brewery. I DO like the real Budweiss brewed the traditional way in The Sudetenland in The Czech Republic. That is great beer, and likely what Augustus Busch first brewed in St. Louis in the late 1800s, after bringing over the original brewing hardware he used in Germany, and using German hops and all good ingredients. It all went wrong somewhere down the line when converting to mass production on a giant scale, and having oligopolistic few large producers controlling the market, and "forming" and "directing" the "taste" of the public (consumers). We have good beer in The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Denmark.

I wrote one hockey story, starring Donald Duck and his nephews, back in 1987. Here is a cover drawing I made for that comic book:

This is a Donald Duck hockey magazine cover drawn by a good friend of mine at Dutch Disney, which was only used by Finland, because it is a hockey-mad country. I was shocked that Sweden didn't use it. I wasn't surprised that we didn't use it in The Netherlands. We'd be a lot more likely to use a speed skating race cover.
