f***. That’s frustrating not playing the last 5 minutes of that game. Whatever, accumulate points I guess

While they did “recover” before the goal in OT, Perron rushing a change and stranding the other two in the end, then Petro blocking the shot and getting a stinger, really could have made a difference as well

Petro was definitely stunned by the shot block. He was out of it for a bit. When he finally noticed the open ice it was too late

Let's hope it's just a stinger and not something worse. He looked to be in a lot of pain and could barely skate. That would make this loss even worse. What an ugly finish. Schwartz and Parayko got careless and it's as if they thought the game was in the bag.

RIP Fugu ϶(°o°)ϵ
It didn't look like they weren't trying hard to me. There was some panic in their game, especially with their puck management, but it's not like they simply stopped caring.

At the end of a game with a lead when you're naturally focused on playing conservatively/trying not to make a mistake and the other team is letting it all hang out with a full court press because they have nothing to lose, it's extremely common to find the momentum swing heavily against you. That's not because the winning team "gave up" or "stopped playing." That's just the nature of sports. It's an incredibly pervasive phenomenon, and there isn't a team in this league that doesn't struggle with it.

That doesn't excuse the loss. It was a bad loss, and there are some things in the Blues game that definitely need to be cleaned up. The loss just wasn't because the Blues didn't give a **** about playing the last five minutes of the game. The Blues lost their composure and structure, but there was plenty of effort there.

Crazy how a team able to deal with a game 7 in Boston has this type of trouble with a two goal lead with 5 minutes left.

The blown coverage on the 3v3 in OT was comical Tarasenko pointing towards two different guys but not covering anyone.

Wow one good year, that means a lot! He's 33 so how about every year before that?

Check his stats with the Islanders. He had one bad year (as did Halak the same season with no defense in front of them). He has been very good with the Islanders since he got here. He's good.

With about 6 minutes to go I was thinking we had played great game today. But then we seemed to take foot off the gas thinking we had it under control. Isles upped their intensity and we didn't match. Following 2 crappy games in a row, its even more disappointing. This team is super tough when we press forward but notsomuch when we go into defensive shell.

It still puzzled me how on earth this team lacked off killer instict while they were 'killers' last season and won Cup. Its like you didn't gain that confidence with Cup or something.

Feels like our puck management is out of gate, we rush it too often and don't have Parayko type of patient. Still Schwartz and Parayko cost to us this game with their sluggish plays at d-zone. We had ton of change to kill this game in 2nd period, but couldn't.... ofc you can't win always, but jeesus its irritating to watch this kind of bs. Never learn.
