I ran into him on the street after game 5 I believe it was last playoffs. Asked him who he thought the biggest threats were on the blues. His answer was parayko and Thomas. Nice guy. Talked for a min then went out separate ways. Cool. Hopefully he has some PP tricks.

EdiT: paraykos spelling. I always dyslexic that up.

Really a good landing spot for Jim and the Blues. Sydor got a fresh start with the Blues under Yeo, and it speaks well for the organization giving second chances to a good coach.

I like this hire, I thought he was good for Dallas, and he's got a nice background of experience in the NCAA. It's good for both him and the team.

We lost our PP coach so we had a hole in our staff, but Jim isn’t that guy. So, I wonder where he slots. Defense or forwards? Seems like Van Ryn would stay where he is at.

I guess Jordan Binnington will know who he is now.

Haha. It’s funny how the hockey world works.

After all the personnel we are losing this offseason, it’s nice to be bringing someone on board for a change. He’s a solid coach.

I love this move.

I think Montgomery is a fantastic coach. His stint in Denver was great and he did some wonderful things in Dallas.

One interesting fact about him: The Blues release and post mentioned the year he played for them in the 93-94 season, but his last season as a player was in 04-05 when he played 42 games with the Missouri River Otters.

So glad to see everyone on board with this move. Monty is obviously quality coach, but it's nice to see so many folks on board with giving him second chance.
