To Rangers: Tarasenko, Barbashev, 2020 2nd

To STL: Skjei, Andersson, Kreider

-----

To Toronto: Pietrangelo, Schenn (50% retained)

To STL: Kapanen, Liljegren, Johnsson, 2019 1st, 2020 1st, conditional 2021 1st (if Leafs make Stanley Cup Finals in either 2019 or 2020, the Blues get the 2021 pick)

-----

To Carolina: Steen, Perron, and Allen

To STL: Darling, Faulk , Pesce

Guaranteeing a top 4 draft pick this year, the blues could add potentially add Jack Hughes or Kappo Kakko to a U22 forward pool of Thomas, Kyrou, Kapanen, Fabbri, Kostin, Bokk, and Andersson.

They would still have Schwartz, ROR and Bozak

Their right side would consist of Parayko/Pesce/Faulk until Lilly was ready to replace Faulk.

Their left side would consist of Edmundson, Skjei and Dunn.

At the end of this season, they could make offers to Simmonds, Duchene and Dzingel to round out their forward group

Mini-rebuild that ends up with them having a top end draft pick this year, and enough NHL ready kids and cap space to not be a bottom feeder next year.

Liljegren will be a #1 cost controlled defender in a few seasons and Kapanen has 40 goal scorer potential

easy no

Kapanen is most likely getting shipped out at some point; the current rumor being to Carolina for Pesce; who is nowhere close to the player that Pietrangelo is.

Kapanen has also scored 20 goals in 87 NHL games; and is on pace for 30 currently because of his deployment in Nylander's absence. If he hits 30 you won't be able to afford him.

Liljegren hasn't played a minute in the NHL, how can you actually sit there and say he will be a #1 defender. Sure, the kid looks great and has potential, but you're sippin on some fine kool-aid if you think that he's a lock to be a #1 guy.

Leafs say no, that’s a ton to pay for Piets who likely bolts after next season and no use for Schenn.

When fans from both sides of the deal don't want to do it because the value is off, it usually means the value isn't off.

A lot of people think Toronto is somewhere Petro would be happy to sign an extension. They're in a great position to win, he grew up in the area, and he played with Tavares as a kid. I'm not itching for the Blues to get rid of him, but not many teams make more sense for him than the Leafs.

He’s also going to want massive money and that is something the team won’t have in two years.

unless someone makes a low level proposal, like a middle 6er for a 2nd round pick, you get a slew of these snarky ****ing replies and its really obnoxious. These proposals are for FUN, no one here has any say on what really goes on in NHL trades.
Well I’m glad someone is having fun, cause I just read the OP and literally rolled my eyes.

That is very very very very veeeery wishful thinking. That is if both players hit their ceilings that are hidden slightly above their current ceilings.

Would be a solid idea if the Rangers were competitive but Tarasenko will be nearing the end of his deal when they're doing that again, and probably looking for a raise.

I think we'll just stick with Kreider for cheaper.

Plus, the Rangers have a history of not getting 100% return on borrowed talent, for whatever reason, outside of Messier and Gaborik.

What our GM has said signals a culture change for the NYR. We're going to start attempting to develop our own core talent and look to the market for depth, as opposed to the other way around.

Interesting proposals, I appreciate the thought gone into making them. For the Blues proposal, how about we take out Johnsson and Schenn, the 2021 conditional, and make the 2020 conditional. So ... Kapanen, Liljegren and 2019 1st, 2020 cond, for Pietrangelo.
