The Blues will make their last road trip before the start of the regular season when they travel to St. Paul, MN on Wednesday to take on the Minnesota Wild.

The puck drops at 7 p.m. Wednesday from Xcel Energy Center. The game will be available on KMOX 1120 AM, stlouisblues.com, kmox.com and in the Blues mobile app, which is available now for iPhone and Android.

The Blues last played on Sunday, where they orchestrated a third-period comeback at Scottrade Center and earned a 3-2 victory over the Dallas Stars with Patrik Berglund's game-winner. Jake Allen made 22 saves.

The Blues are 2-1-1 in the preseason and have recently acquired veteran free agent Brenden Morrow, who Head Coach Ken Hitchcock said won't play Wednesday in Minnesota.

Jaroslav Halak and Brian Elliott will split time in goal in Minnesota.

The Wild are 3-1 in the preseason.

Not sure if the wild will have video but from what it seems, over on their forum, they won't. Really getting antsy for televised games. Hard to make judgements so far but looks like we are icing a strong squad.

Jaskin and Whitney making their final impressions. JR said cuts should happen after the game Thursday morning.

That's almost our starting lineup. Hopefully we have a strong showing.

I popped over here to see if you guys knew of any video feeds of the game, there's none on our end. It's really frustrating that they can't at least stream it on at least one of the team's websites, there's seems to be a lot of us fans that would really like to see the game. I know for us we're down to some final cuts & I'd really like to see how some of our young guys perform, radio just doesn't cut it...

If you guys happen to find any kind of link to see the game please share the love over at the Wild boards & we'll do the same if we find a feed.

Cheer's to a good game tonight!

Calling for a 6-4 win. Tank and Paajarvi get 2G each with Bergy getting 4A and Schwartz and Petro rounding out the scoring. Halak gives up 3 and the goaltending plot thickens.

Really just hope the boys start getting ready for Oct 3 and no injuries, all the other stuff doesn't really matter!!

With Brendan Morrow added, I really like the look of that team. A lot of skill down the middle, skilled two-way wingers, and physical play from all three lines. How has MPS looked? A friend of mine in St. Louis told me that he looked great in training camp.

  8. Jaskin hopefully has a big game and impresses tonight. Would love to see him crack the team.

I take it Allen gets the nod Friday?

At whose expense? If Jaskin makes the roster AND Morrow is here (and Whitney is gone and not signed) then that would mean 2 of Porter/Reaves/Cracknell are all waived, right? I'm assuming Reaves stays on because no one else can quite produce his heavy weight status. But maybe the team doesn't need a heavyweight at all?

Porter and Cracknell are definitely less likely to get grabbed on waivers than Reaves is and for good reason. The Blues probably don't need a regular heavyweight, but they're such a gritty team that it helps. Plus, it's not like that's all Reaves is. He's not that bad of a hockey player and is a punishing hitter. Given that the other candidates for the bottom line are guys like Lapierre, Sobotka, Morrow, etc., Reaves is the one who is not redundant, while Porter and Cracknell could easily be seen that way.

  11. Not sure, just would like to see him make it.

Pre Morrow it would have been possible, now not so much.

So Cracknell and Porter need to be sent through waivers? I thought there was a deadline before the season where players could be called up and down without waivers.

  13. can't get the KMOX feed to work :( lame

Really wish they would show the game on tv, not like the Cards are playing tonight. Oh well...

  15. 1-0 Wild after Cooke takes a shot that Halak stops, but it somehow gets behind him and is knocked in.

  16. I miss the old scoreboard the Blues had on their website. The one that was a small window that had a horn that sounded every time we scored.

  17. Jaskin played 2:39 (1:27 less than the next guy) and still had 3 hits and 2 shots.

Have heard Tarasenko's name quite a bit tonight. Couple of opportunities to score.

    Welp. 2-0 Wild.

EDIT: 3-0 Wild. Not sure if Elliott misplayed the puck or bad bounce.

Eh, I'm not worried. I'm just ready for the regular season to start and to be watching some televised games. It's a marathon this year and I'm ready...

Things not going well at all for Elliott by the sound of it. With the quote Hitch gave about "Jake not going away quietly," I wonder if Elliott could lose the backup job.

Slapper from the blue line shorthanded? Lol. Probably a pretty soft goal, but at least something positive came from this game. Still not really worried, though. Regular season is when things get tighter.

Considering the guys we put out there today was expecting a bit more offensively. Sounds like Elliot struggled a little bit. Can't imagine playing half a game is easy to get settled in on though. One week and were on the marathon run for real. Can't friggin wait to see what team shows up the 3rd.
