This is a pretty big game. We need this one to get back on track.

Bouwmeester better be scratched. It'll probably kill Yeo to have to scratch a vet two games in a row but it needs to be done.

Jets are all out of sorts right now. The best time to beat them is now.
I keep seeing this, but they are 5-2-1 on the season, are 3-0-1 in their last 4 and have outscored their opponents 16-10 in those 4 games.

I haven't watched those games, but if that's "out of sorts" then that's very bad news for the rest of the Central (and league as a whole). We'll have our hands full tonight.

Borts wasn’t in the morning skate today, so I am guessing we are getting Bouwmeester back in tonight.

Edit - yep, per JT, he is paired with Edmundson.

It's like Yeo is trying to get fired.

EDIT: Just saw Bortz is injured. Pretty much didnd't have a choice I guess, but I'm not happy. Would rather have Bo than Jerebak so whatever.

Ugh. Borts flew back to Stl with a lower body injury.

Pairings:
Dunn-Petro
Schmaltz-Parayko
Bouw-Edmundson

Odd they’re going with lefty-lefty and righty-righty pairings but I guess that’s the least amount of disruption from the last game given the Borts injury.

It's certainly not as good as they could be. They had a 4-1 lead against the Oilers and completely collapsed in the third period. We need to take advantage if they have another game like that.

Maybe Schmaltz is being considered for a long-time pairing partner for Parayko?

I know everyone will be frothing at the mouth over Bouwmeester being back in there but the Bortuzzo injury doesn’t leave him much choice. They just have to try and shelter JBo as much as they can, and I think Edmundson can be a good partner for him. Hopefully Bortuzzo isn’t out for too long.

I think at some point, I'd like to see Thomas for Blais because I think Kyrou and Thomas would have some chemistry from their World Junior days.

Well yeah, this is understandable. We just would have been mad if Dunn or Schmaltz were taken out.

Bortuzzo must have something nagging going on, so I'm fine if they sit him for a while.

Hopefully Bouwmeester plays 3rd pair minutes.

Very odd, given their strong philosophical aversion to it in the past.

I'd be surprised if those pairings lasted all game.

Right, seems like the logical thing to do is just flip Edmundson and Schmaltz, those pairings would look good.

I'm guessing they probably will by the 2nd period.
