it's only been tracked since 1998-99, with a two-year break, IIRC.

If you want it on paper, the 2003 NHL guide and record book has the full RTSS stats for all players active at that time, for the previous 4 seasons. Then the NHL began to pretend that those stats didn't exist, because defensemen like Greg de Vries were using them to secure huge raises. They did not track them in the 2003 and 2004 seasons. Then they started after the lockout, but did not add them into players' stat panels in the official guide and record books, nor did they bring back the old stats.

which is too bad, because if they did, this would be the only place where you could see, on one page, that so-and-so had 150 hits this year, and 127 hits last year, and so on.

they are all available on NHL.com, but you've gotta look at them season-by-season.

I really hope that's what you mean by "historical" - that stuff didn't exist back in the 60s or 80s.
