Sabres < Hischier

Devils < #7, Cozens, Okposo

Buffalo get a young #2 C who can contribute immediately while also dumping Okposo's contract

New Jersey rollback their rebuild with another top 10 lottery pick this year, and a young C in Cozens who should develop into their #2 of the future

Buffalo fans saying they wouldn’t take this are out of their minds.

Eh I wouldn't call a team lacking depth not wanting to trade 2 likely top-6 forwards for 1 proven one is "out of their mind"

I'd take the risk and bet on Cozens and Holtz/Raymond/etc. personally.

You can’t call those 2 likely top 6 forwards.

While not a guarantee, when looking back at past drafts majority of the time forwards selected top-10 become top 6 fowards.

Hence, likely. I'll take that chance on propsects I believe in like Cozens and the top-8 or so guys in this top heavy draft

just stop

a player drafted at 7 or Cozens can be just as good as Hischier

You absolutely can.

Guaranteed is another thing, even though they are probably pretty close to that.
2018 #6 Filip Zadina (Quinn Hughes went 7th but we are talking about top 6 F)
2017 #7 Lias Andersson
2016 #7 Clayton Keller
2015 #6 Pavel Zacha (Provorov 7th)
2014 #6 Jake Virtanen (Hayen Fleury 7th)
2013 #6 Sean Monahan

To me, Hischiser > Cozens + Zadina/Andersson/Zacha/Virtanen

Cozens + Keller I think is still a bit of an unknown
Monahan + Cozens might be > Nico

This is not even counting the value of taking an anchor of a contract. $6m a year for 3 more seasons opening up on you cap is a huge benefit.

Too risky for either side for sure though.

If we're sending Nico to Buffalo, we'd be upgrading our 1C.

I'll leave it at that.

lol

Not sure why buffalo would be interested in trading the guy who's on pace for 95 points for the one who's on pace for 50.

This is the definition of delusional.

I feel like the premise of what he's saying is why would any team trade it's young, proven, cost controlled 1C unless they're upgrading or getting one of equal value back.

You're free to argue the semantics of who or what a 1C is, because that's not the point here.

those words don't describe hischier.

And yes comparing one player to a far superior one is delusional.

there has to be some rationale. you can't compare hischier to eichel. that's ludicrous.
