My opinion: completely reckless, not necessary dirty. Tkachuk can go lick the underbelly of a hedgehog, though.

Flame away.

Coaches consistently tell players, avoiding contact is the fastest way to get hurt. This is a case where Wheeler could have just absorbed the collision and been fine, but tried to do the drive-by and got clipped instead.
Thoroughly disagree. Wheeler poked the puck loose and was going for the puck. Taking the hit instead of going for the puck means losing the battle for possession.

I dont expect the NHL to do anything about this, because until it becomes a Torres situation, they don't do anything about players being irreverent and other players getting injured as a result. Tkachuk was going for hurting Jets players all game, he succeeded, and now our captain is out with a head injury. Good for the drooling idiot. I hope he's proud.

I’ve lost count of how many “kneeing” hits were just a guy trying to last second jump to the side and hanging his leg out

Wheeler is the softest "tough guy" I've ever seen. I cannot wait till he returns and has to fight Tkachuk for this perceived slight. The code must be upheld!

I don't think Brady has ever intentionally tried to injure anyone. He's not afraid to drop the gloves and settle things the old-fashioned way, ask Shea Weber.

I know it sucks to lose your captain and one of your best players, but take a couple deep breathes...it'll be fine.

Hockey is a hitting game. There are times when a player has plenty of time and space to go around someone, which is fine... but there are other times when trying to dip and dodge through traffic creates situations like this one. It's an unfortunate thing and it doesn't excuse Tkachuk flinging his elbows around, but it does mean that in a situation like this Wheeler needs to be prepared for that body contact. Even if he scoots around the opponent 99% of the time, that other 1% there's going to be an elbow or a stick or a skate still sticking out there, and this happens.

Again, this is distinct from talking about playing within the rules. As a player in a physical sport, there is a certain amount of contact you have to welcome as a matter of keeping yourself safe from these kinds of glancing-blow injuries.

Careless, not dirty. Tkachuk is pretty clearly anticipating a hit along the boards, but he's got to keep his elbow down.

It's Ratchuk, he made it look accidental but it was 100% deliberate, he's just a terribly dirty player and finds sneaky rat ways to get away with dirty shit.

Did you even look at the hit and see who it was?

Of course, It's Ratchuk doing what he does best, injure other players, play dirty anything to win except they can't even do that.
There's a bunch of rats on that team that've gotten away with what should've been suspensions during this season.

Is it me or does the elbow not even hit captain america's head?

That's the thing about Wheeler. He's such a great captain that he's willing to cut his face with a razor on the bench and even put himself through concussion protocol to really sell it.

Would your captain be willing to miss games to sell a call in a game that's already over?
