So both Toews and JC laid out the Lack Of Enetgy excuse...except that JC said it makes him angry (that his players lacked energy) and Toews did not mention anger...justxa sheepish kindvof shrug and blamed the some nights you do not have it schedule grind excuse.

Bad teams make excuses.
Does the team need a new sports psychologist to get energy from a lot more "want" and attention to details of the job.....OR does the team require a new "energy coach" based on whatever better conditioning the current conditioning and nutrition staff have obviously FAILED to get Hawks players to the necessary level to have the "energy" for this schedule to compete better every night and every period.

Or are these just lame excuses?Team has not got enough talent both with and without the puck?

Is the fall off no show of D-Cat and Strome this season just a 1 off and they will return to the dynamic duo of last season in 2020/21 ...or is this really what they are...unable to defend properly and no shows o the scoresheet way too often now?

Are we seeing the back end of Keith falling off the cliff? We always knew the last 3-4 seasons of the 13 yr deal would be very problematic...all those hard seasons and playoffs and big monutes eventually had to take a toll..Now he us a shell of the game director he was before.

He should now be only a 3rd pair guy in the su set years..but we are stuck with him as still 1st paring...he cannot make up for Boqvists learning mistakes and still not quite strong enough physical issuesxbecause of his youth and not yet matured body...Nor can Boqvist make up for the now regressed play of Keith in defending..

If this is tge 1st pair.. expected to direct a game and be a shutdown of the iOS best ,right there you see a huge problem .

Ok.. so we must ebdurectge lastc3 seasonsbof Keith starting next season and we cannot even let him retire to solve this because of the recapture of cap attachedcto his special contract by Bettman and his circumvention police.

All we can look forward to is New Hips Seabs next season...or will that not provide rejuvenation miracles either?

This team is really F****d till we can replace Keith and Seab contracts with dmen who can be all stars like when those 2 were I their primes.....not carrying 2 albatrosses like they are now.

By then..3 and 4 more seasons for Keith and Seabs respectively ...May e that will be resolved with new guysxwho can be l star dofference-makers on the back end..but even IF thay happens, you then have Jane a d Toews 4 years older and their games no longer at even the level theycare now..."energy" for them over 82 games will be even worse than it apparently is now..

This is a very bleak picture.

This team will never resurface as contenders Gain with thisvokd core still here.

And Mr.$6.0 cost certainty(Saad) is not e oygh of a difference-maker to justify that ki d of oay level...at best a 50-55 point guy only and not exactly Bob Gainey in defendingg his check.

Too many insurmountable flwmaws on this team plus the getting worse as the core ages "energy" problems of the "leaders" .
We all know how difficult it is to re-rool and maintain with your core at tge same time..

The better way to rise to the top of the mountain tain is to grow lower in the standings...blow up your old "tired" core and re-start with talent from early picks and multiple picks by selkirk g yourctip assets before their trade value declines.

That strategy of tanking tk the bottom will now serve Ottawa, because they have suffered in that strategy bit now willrealp the draft pick benefits with both great early picks andmylriole firsts secobds and 3rd over the next 3 drafts that they have stockpiled

.Plus some of their recent draft picks actually have de eloped nicely in the ahl or college or juniors. They will be getting a huge youthful talent injection infusion ..In 3-4 seasons they will be competing for a Cup ...alright future.

Hawks ave 3 more seasons to see the end of the 2 $20.5 contracts and the end of the Keith deal..Then(unless therevis a compliance buy-out granted with new CBA(Seabs deal ends in the summer of 2024. After 4 more seasons.

What should we have expected.. We all knew the last few years of the core deals would be problematical.

Thise fears have come home to roost...1 st with Seabs..now Keith..and soon with Kane and Toews and we will see more "lack of energy" issues with them.

So firecJC. Dir Stan. Fire rgecscouts. Fire the conditioningabd nutrition coaches.. ..fire the sports psychologist...will not make any difference...Cannotcstio Fatger Tine..

The old core cannot save us anymore.Their contracts now albatross markers to a fade to oblivion.

We ask our top paid "starss" to star ..but no longer ir not as often can they be star difference-makers...

And when some new "stars" fail to star in a season (D-Cat and Strone) this compounds the task of getting wins.

Finally.. goaltending still over-rodes everything.. If it is great it covers up all fakes...if it falters and tgeircare flaws tgey then get realkyvexpised.

Just when utvcpubted most(over kat 8vgames( Hawks goaltenders failed to be the elks they needed to be.

Tgecfloodgatesvooened and tge Real Blackhawks were exposed and everyone clearly can identify the flaws o this team.

So fore coaches and GM and scouts forxsnotger bad job season.. but that will not fix the core issues ..That is z problem of Ge. .game mileage. And "lack of energy" to sustain hard compete for all 3 periods.

The best teams in the NHL compete an an A level longer in games ...in every period of big majority of games. THE Hawks just cannot maintain such high levels of energyvaccross so manyboeriods.

The Hawks are too old at the core level and too young at hge less experienced spots.

Thus tgexagec"gap" is off-balnce= too wide a gO between the youth and the vets to compete for a Cupor even z playoff spit

This cannot get better toll the entire core group is gone.

Hard for the core to show the kids how to do it if the core explains losses as "lack of energy"...but they're Ging and that is the inevitable story.

Toews with his usual excuse. //smh

there is only so much he can say. it is not his job to hang anyone out to dry for the press to a free shot at. if the press digs and knows hockey then they should be writing about it.

last night play was a team screw up. a team lost.

Truth.

If DeBrincat has 10 more goals the Hawks probably win 2-3 more games at least.
Combine that with a horrible power play (dead last in the NHL) and you have a recipe for failure.

With this lineup Hawks should have been 1st wildcard at worst.

JC has to go. No way around it.
you had me until that last line. this mess is not at the coaches fault, the end line is the players didn't performed as they are paid to do.

Are we sure it isn’t just a shit roster though?
well it ends there. that is the final line of any vocal defense of this team. but it is obvious more of this crap happen at the beginning of the season and carried on.

where is the guy who has the heart and soul of the team ??? is this what is missing ?? so what is the real excuse of what is happening to this team ??

I don't think he has any idea why the team sucks. Clueless.
it is more of the Bhawks way of keep on coddling the players of today. they need to think what happen in the last game as a whole team........

It’s not a coincidence that the team is cratering and the goaltending has dropped. Lehner’s numbers have dropped and it is now obvious the team’s problems were being masked by above average goaltending.

No amount of video watching or mental preparation is going to fix the current problem. Pulling the plug on this season, trading for assets and tanking is the appropriate solution.

I think they need an influx of good, young cheap talent, a top pairing veteran defenseman and a new coach.

Some trade deadline selling and just plain patience will help solve the talent issue.

Top pairing veteran defenseman, every team wants one, not sure how they can get one.

New coach, there are some good ones on the sidelines right now, so that seems correctable.

If they can’t find a way to do all of those things, it’s probably best to just go into a full rebuild and wait out the bad contracts. A few people were advocating for it a couple years ago and it looks like they may have been right. It would hurt for us fans, especially since it should have been avoidable, but it will hurt worse in the long run to ignore the reality of the situation.

The hawks panicked after getting swept by a better team. I understand the thought of cost certainty in both trades. To me the Murphy trade has been good for chicago. Obviously the panarin one not so well even though I'm a fan of saad.

Yep. I thought that trade was setting us up to retool and go for the Cup starting this season, with a cost controlled Saad at 6M for 2 years. It seems the team did too, they just didn’t do enough to get over the hump. It was fun to watch Bread Man in his time here though. Hope he can fulfill his dream of lifting Lord Stanley.

Part of the coach's job is to not only get the most out of the players, but manage their egoes as well.

JC hasn't done either. That doesn't absolve the players from blame, but he's not blameless.
