Glad we signed him. He needs 2 seasons in the AHL.

If the team doesn't acquire an NHL goalie for next season than he and Stauber/Soda are the AHL goalies with one of Stauber/Soda backing up Mrazek.

If the team does acquire an NHL goalie this off season than one of Stauber/Soda is gone with the remaining goalie teaming with Commesso in Rockford.

Nice, only 4 years to go to build a defense in front of him

Odd thing to say since Hawks have been doing pretty good job of stocking cupboards on blueline and outside of Murphy and Jones have no Longterm commitments contract wise giving them flexibility to add talent down line.

Kevin Korchinski (2022 1st round)
Sam Rinzel (2022 1st round)
Nolan Allan (2021 1st round)
Alex Vlasic (2019 2nd round)
Alex Regula (2018 3rd round, Acq via trade)
Wyatt Kaiser (2020 3rd round)
Taige Harding (2021 3rd round)
Michael Krutil (2020 4th round)
Ethan Del Mastro (2021 4th round)
Isaak Philips (2020 5th round)
Louis Crevier (2020 7th round)
Connor Kelley (2021 7th round)
Filip Roos (UDFA)

Hawks D pipeline is among best and stacks up to anyone else's IMO.

Ian Mitchell (2017 2nd) and Jakub Galvas (2017 5th) both RFA's and appear likely to be out of organization this summer and guys like Regula/Vlasic/Crevier/Philips likely are entering important make or break years for them to either establish themselves or findthemselves on outs as next wave of D prospects begin signing professional contracts

That's great BWC. It is going to take Drew years to be the starter and we will need that time to develop all the kids you listed there. How you can take my post as a shot against the Hawks young d is baffling...

3 years minimum...I hope they all grow together in Rockford for a couple years. In year three the payroll flexibility will be perfect for building around the young players imo. The top pick this year absolutely cannot be rushed this time like Dach was.

Great signing. He is only 20 years old. Let him develop in the AHL for a year or two as the team rebuilds and with 2 years of AHL experience in his back pocket he will be ready to go in the NHL when this team is competitive again and he will still just be 23.
