I hate white tape because it looks dirty after you use it.
Blade is always black.
Shaft is either blue or red depending on stick colour scheme

As a goalie I have literally not once noticed or been affected by the color of an opponent's stick tape. I think it's moreso a mental game for yourself than anything else.

Used black majority of my younger days, switched to white because I personally find it easier to see the puck in the corner of my eye when my head is up.

As for it masking the puck - pretty much the same myth that white pads blend into the ice and make it harder for players to see openings.

I typically use what ever tape is on sale for the blade.
I like to use white only for the end of the stick as black tends to get the palms of my gloves dirty faster.
