Please tell me how many of those goals were poor goaltending where Sammy saves it? The breakaway snipe to the corner? The OT tip? How about the turnover behind the net walk right in front goal?

The breakaway snipe to the corner was from a terrible angle.

Jarry made many difficult saves while Vanecek only made a few.

Scoring chances and high danger changes heavily favored the Caps. The Penguins were lucky to win this one and it came down to goaltending.

Not exactly the ideal place to be with 6 games to go where the debate over which goalie should start in the playoffs centers on who is playing worse.

Jarry did outplay VV, but this was on the caps having poor puck control. You can’t let a talented scoring team that many chances. I don’t know one goal that was a “bad” goal. The snipe angel wasnt that bad, it was a great shot. For those who don’t know, the goal is bigger than the goalie.

VV had a good game, way to many chances for Pitt. He kept us in it for good stretches
The numbers don't agree. At 5-on-5 the Caps controlled 60.5% of the scoring chances and 68.8% of high danger scoring chances but were outscored 4-2. VV did not play well and rarely bailed them out when they needed him to. Jarry won the game for Pittsburgh or Vitek lost the game for Washington -- pick whichever one you think is more fitting.

The second Kapanen goal was not a good look. He was off his angle on that one.
He was also off his angle on Kapanen’s first goal. He completely flubbed it and it still looked like an easy goal because Vanecek was on one side of the net. Was also off angle on the Pens second goal. The puck never even left the ice.

Look, Vanecek has had some good games recently and has had some good stretches this season but I’ll take Samsonov’s upside over VV’s mediocreness (yeah that’s not a word but still).
