With the NCAA Basketball tournament in full swing, this is when we hear a lot about upsets, underdogs, Cinderella, etc.

Junior hockey has the Memorial Cup and its playoff format is not as clear-cut as 64 team single elimination regionalized tournament, but given how long junior hockey has been crowning champions and the great teams there have been, there has to be a memorable upset or two.

Every now and then, there has to be like a Junior Hockey equivalent of, say, Giguere over Detroit 2003, Halak over Caps 2010, Islanders/Pens 1993, Miracle on Ice, etc.

Even the most loaded teams here and there have been tripped up unexpectedly while trying to win their league or maybe the Memorial Cup.

How about the entire 2007 Wolves playoff run? As the 6 seed, We beat #3 Missy in 5, swept #1 Barrie, then beat #2 Belleville in 6 to reach the final, where we ultimately fell in 6 to Plymouth

Check out the 1997 Prince George Cougars. Finished sixth in the seven-team west, 11 games below .500. Went on to beat #1 Portland in the first round and then swept #3 Spokane in the second round to reach the conference final for the first time in the franchise's history. They then dragged #2 Seattle to a six-game series before eventually losing. PG fans - who have suffered some awful, awful seasons - were pretty excited about that playoff run.

1998-99 Hull Olympiques (55 points) defeat the Shawinigan Cataractes (92 points) in round 2.
The Olympiques reached the QMJHL finals that year, only to lose in Game 7 to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.
