"Big Game Brass" Derick Brassard with 2 goals vs NYR in 1000th career game

Derick Brassard, playing against his former team the New York Rangers for his 1000th career game, has potted his 10th & 11th goals of the season, tying the game at 3.

He becomes just the 7th NHLer to score 2 goals in their 1000th game. Fun fact, Chris Phillips is one of the other 6.



Coming to camp on a PTO, Brassard won a job with the expectation that he would be an extra forward who plays every so often. Due to injuries, he's gotten into 49 games already and has really played above anyones expectations.



DJ Smith & Brassard coordinated so that his 1000th game would be against New York, and his silver stick ceremony would be at home - in the community he grew up in - against Columbus. It has been a great moment for the entire team and fanbase.

There is still game left, so maybe we will see Big Game Brass complete the hat trick in his 1000th game. Congrats to a great guy on a fantastic career.

A very under the radar/underrated signing, provided depth as Norris went down early, productive in limited role and minutes. A classy veteran and a likeable guy, very happy he got 2 in his 1000th.
