Tavares isn't eligible until at least 2009 (anyone know if he'd be 2009 or 2010 eligible under the new CBA?)

McKeens has him listed as a 2009. I guess that means he was born in 91?

By the new CBA then, he should be a 2008.

Pretty sure you got that wrong...assuming the draft is a "19-year-old draft" of prospects born in a given calendar year, the 2009 Draft will be for players born Jan 1/1990 - Dec 31/1990. So he'll still be 2009.

Even if the NHL decides to go to a 19 year old draft, that decision would have to be upheld by the courts.... If it goes to a Canadian court it has NO chance of being upheld.

anyway anyone puts it, John Tavares will be the first north american prospect ever to have completed 4 years of junior eligibility before being drafted.
