I love Rod. Great player, great leader and one of the top two or three two-way forwards from the last decade (not necessarily defensive forwards, but two-way ones). But there is no way I'd take him over Gilmour. Brindys peak was solid, Gilmours was MVP worthy. Longevity is about equal for both. Both were Selke winners so it's not like anyone can claim that either was deficient in the defensive aspects of their game.
