As you all know, we are blessed to have two developmental teams in New York with which we send players from time to time. So question time has come - which team has produced us with more talent?

Admirals/Crunch:
Kucherov
Vasilevskiy
Johnson
Palat
Gourde
Killorn
Cernak
Joseph
Paquette
Erne
Koekkoek

Rangers:
McDonagh
Stralman
Miller
Girardi
Boyle
Callahan

Edit: For completion purposes, I'll put the players who came straight through/other FA.

Lightning (no Syracuse/Rangers/Trade/FA)
Stamkos
Hedman
Point
Sergachev (acquired through trade, but as a 19 year-old made the team so I'm counting him)

Other Means (FA/Non-Rangers Call-up)
Dominigue
Martel
Coburn

Players/Prospects who kind of come from both:
Masin (from a pick that was traded for a pick that we got in the MSL-Callahan trade)
Stephens (same as above)
Cirelli (even more attenuated - originally a Florida pick sent to the Islanders which was sent to us in exchange for a Rangers pick we got in the MSL trade).

So with that in mind - who is the best farm team? We got a star RW and goalie from the Crunch, but we got a #1 and #2 Dman from the Rangers. I think this is closer than it looks!

Edit: Holy shit - we've acquired more players from the Rangers than we've had as draft+junior to the NHL. That's... kind of crazy.

Crunch takes the cake but the fact that we can also take draft picks from the Rangers is a big plus.

Defense is NYR by far. Offense is easily Syracuse. Luckily we have both to draw from.
The luxury of having an offensive farm team and a defensive farm team. We’ve got solid scoring from Norfolk/Syracuse and great defensive players from New York. People keep talking about the state income tax but IMO this is the Lightning’s true advantage.

In all honesty, Crunch, and the next batch is coming... I heard that kid we signed from the QMJHL is looking pretty good ;)

Maybe we just figured Syracuse wasn't the right environment to develop into a core member of the TB Lightning. Most our defensemen seem to come from the other farm team. Hell, maybe we will wind up getting them to develop Foote for us after all.

Your list isn't 100% correct. Brayden Point did play 9 games for the Crunch and Domingue was acquired via Trade from Arizona. He played 18 games for the Crunch, too.

No but seriously, there are actual people who think Vlad is better than Miller?
Sometimes you wonder if a certain player could do well even with worse linemates but it was so obvious with Vladdy, he was never more than an average 3rd liner without Stamkos and Kucherov.
