Spreadsheet with historical adjusted and situational stats

Edit: 2013 update.

Here's a copy of the spreadsheet I use for historical regular season adjusted and situational stats. Link goes to a zip file that includes an Excel spreadsheet and a text file with documentation.

The stats go back to the 1967-68 NHL season. They include official NHL stats, special teams scoring stats taken from the Hockey Summary Project data, and advanced stats derived from the official stats.

The numbers are updated through the 2011-2012 season. While there are more detailed numbers available for analyzing recent seasons, I've included them here for the sake of completeness and historical comparison.

Some selections from the stats included are presented below.

Hey guys,

I was just wondering if there were any websites that has the option to export their data to Excel (or have downloadable content). I know the information I am looking for is all on NHL.com, but it does not seem like I can download it directly to Excel.

Does anyone have a website or method that they use to export the data they need?

Any help is greatly appreciated.[/B]

Hockey-Reference.com allowas you to download data in CSV format.

Thanks, I had a look at the site and they seem to be very limited as to tracking actual stats. For some reason, they do not have hits, takeaways/giveaways, Penalty shots etc.

MOD NOTE: I merged your post into this thread since it's an Excel resource, and so that it may get more exposure over the long term. Let one of us know if you'd rather it was merged into a different thread (such as Adjusted Plus-Minus or Adjusted ES Production) or if you'd prefer it to remain a stand alone thread.

This is incredible, and thanks or doing it. I can't seem to find stats for "shots" in here, or shooting percentage. am I just missing those somewhere?

Note that if anyone is trying to calculate 2014 numbers, the updated 2013 spreadsheet adjusts to 180 even strength goals per team per season, not 200 as the OP indicates (the 2012 spreadsheet did you 200 ES goals per team per season).

Conveniently, it looks like NHL teams scored exactly 180 ES goals per team per season in 2013-14, so the raw even strength point totals can be used.

Yep. I thought it gave more aesthetically pleasing results.

I count 170 ESG/team, TDMM. 225 total, 170 ES, 48 PP, 7 SH. Were you including shootout "goals" from the NHL standings?
