Barkov deserves credentials on this front. Dude is still a wizard passer but has all the sudden decided to score 35 goals in his last 64 regular season games...most of them on actual shots and deflections/rebounds.

Draisaitl is the obvious answer to his question. He's the only player in the league who is both a top 3 shooter and passer.

Pasta, Barkov, Rantanen, Stamkos are some other guys who also have a really nice balance of shooting/playmaking

Over the last 5 seasons, Ovechkin has 127 assists.

That puts him 69th in the league over that timeframe.

It's a nice pass but it doesn't change the fact that Ovechkin is nowhere close to being considered a top 10 playmaker in the NHL.
