Hello, Everyone.
Today, I decided to look at what sort of dream best of the decade lineups I could make up, so I chose a dream matchup between the best of this decade and the last decade.
Before I show you these lineups, I want to talk about how I chose these players, since I did it based off a few conditions and rules.
Rules and Conditions: I had some conditions for each position. For forwards, I chose the players with the highest adjusted points (This, and everything else, is with the courtesy of NHL Stats, History, Scores, & Records | Hockey-Reference.com ) while choosing Left and Right Wingers, as well as centres, separately. For Defense and Goaltending, I chose the players based off of their Point Shares, and made an extra rule for each position, as a Dman must have 50+ Adjusted points (Adjusting the point shares in 2012-13 to make it equal with all other seasons) to count, and a Goalie needs a Vezina winning season to qualify. If a player has the Most Point Shares total in a decade by a LW, RW, C or Goalie, or is Top 2 for a Defenseman, they automatically make the first line.
With this in mind, and with a bit of lineup and roster tinkering to make it slightly more accurate to "what if the game happened" ("You honestly can't have one Sedin without the other, ok?"), I bring you these lineups: (Note: If a player qualifies in both decades, the 2010s, which are 2010-11 to 2018-19, get priority over the 2000s first, then if they are not on the roster in the 2010s, they can qualify and make the roster for the 2000s instead. This makes players like Crosby and Ovechkin stay in the 2010s.)
2010s:
2013 Ovechkin - 2014 Crosby - 2016 Kane
2011 D.Sedin - 2011 H. Sedin - 2013 St. Louis
2019 Gaudreau - 2018 McDavid - 2019 Kucherov
2016 Benn - 2012 Malkin - 2011 Perry
Substitutes: 2013 Kunitz - 2012 Stamkos - 2012 Giroux
2012 Karlsson - 2018 Doughty
2017 Burns - 2011 Visnovsky
2015 Subban - 2017 Hedman
Substitutes: 2012 Weber- 2016 Letang
2012 Lundqvist
2015 Price
Substitute: 2011 Thomas
2000s:
2004 Kovalchuk - 2006 Thornton - 2002 Iginla
2003 Naslund - 2001 Sakic - 2003 Hedjuk
2006 Heatley - 2003 Forsberg - 2006 Jagr
2001 Straka - 2007 Lecavelier - 2003 Bertuzzi
Substitutes: 2008 Zetterberg - 2010 Backstrom - 2001 Kovalev
2008 Lidstrom - 2008 Rafalski
2009 Green - 2010 Keith
2003 MacInnis - 2002 Blake
Substitutes: 2006 Zubov - 2004 Niedermayer
2004 Luongo (Never won vezina in his career, but #1 in Point Shares. Put up his most PS)
2002 Theodore
Substitute: 2007 Brodeur

Very Interesting teams if you ask me, what do you think?
However, this game would probably never happen, unless you used time travel...

First feel like one of the 2003 to 2007 era Pronger missing ? Is 3 final in a row peak there must be higher than Mike Green..

97 points Selke Datsyuk is an other one that feel like should search for a place.

Would need to look if they survive your selection process too.

both of those two miss the cut off slightly. backstrom had 107 adjusted in 2010 over 2008 datsyuk's 105 and 2004 Niedermayer had 12 PS over 2007 Pronger's 11.7. They are like 1 or 2 off from being in.
