The difference is Haseks "hot streak" lasted for about a decade without relenting. Roy and Brodeur were barely allowed to even look at the Vezina during that span.I hate when people say things like this...
Hasek is incredible - but that 99 run always gets overblown.
1996 - Vanbiesbrook dragged an arguably even weaker Panthers team to the finals.
2000. Kolzig dragged an arguably even weaker Capitals team to the finals.
So in a 5 year stretch - 3x a perceived "weak team" with a hot goalie made the finals - and all 3 goalies had fairly comparable stats.
