Uh, okay. Halpern was a good find but he wasn't a huge bargain like Williams was. There were a few teams willing to give Williams more money than we did, but he came here anyway.

I'd argue Lang should be on the list. The team around him wasn't good, but he produced and git the team a good return.

Well...Halpern was a free agent out of college. He played the lion's share of his career in Washington and centered one of the franchises best lines, Kono Halpern Dahlen. As an undrafted free agent he was a steal. Adding that he was a local boy a real steal.

Niskanen has been the Caps best veteran UFA signing in a long time.

Guy Charron you have to put on that list. IMO he had one heck of a career.

Didn't Mike Ridley also sign with the Caps after playing for the Rangers?
