Defense:
Team 1 >= Team 2 > Team 3

Goalie:
Team 1 >= Team 3 > Team 2

Fairly even, Team 3 has the strongest forward group, but I actually can't vote against team 1.

Best goalie, best defenseman and 3rd best Forward in the poll. Team 2 has much better D than team 3, but Team 3 gets the edge in goalie and a huge edge in forwards.

I think team 1 is the best fairly easily. With team 3 second and team 2 well behind the others. Forwards have slight edge to team 3 but it's close. Team 1 has the edge in goal. Hasek is the best of all time and it's not particularly close in my opinion. Defence is not really close at all. Orr is just in a class of his own.

Yeah but Gretzky with Roy? And McInnes and Coffey and Hull are no slouches.

That seals the deal, and Hasek > Roy > Brodeur

It's between Team 1 and Team 3 for sure. Small edge to Team 1 because I am a Mario fan.

I would swap out Shanny for Jagr to make it a little close because team 2 is pretty clearly the worst. Team 1 and 3 are really close IMO.

My initial reaction is team 1 but I think Gretzky, Coffey, MacInnis, and Roy are almost as good as Lemieux, Orr, Langway, and Hasek while Bobby Hull and Lafleur are much better than Bossy and Kariya so I'll have to go with team 3.

That's too simple math.

Gretzky, Lemieux and Orr are differentiators. Team 1 has 2 of them, team 3 has 1. I think that's what seals it.

Gretzky might be better than Lemieux - but it's a small gap at most.
Orr is quite significantly better than either of the other defenseman, and would be a big differentiator here.

Hull and Lafleur are pretty fantastic - but i think in this all star setup, with Lemieux and Orr on their line - both Bossy and Kariya are talented enough to step up and match up to those 2, so i don't think that advantage really helps team 3 all that much. If Hull or Lafleur had to run their own offense/line they'd be much better than the other 2 - but on this all-star squad the advantage would be insignificant.

I don't really care much about the goalies. I think in this type of all star lineup, any goalie would be hardpressed to perform, so it's kind of a wash.

Team 2 is the best. Shannahan is superb, stellar player and very underrated. Which Brodeur are we getting? 94 Brodeur is close to the best there has ever been. St.Louis Brodeur is close to the worst there has ever been.

2 is without question the worst.

I picked 3 as the best, but it's so damn close. Hard to go against Gretzky, but what if the other option has Lemeiux AND Orr?
